I don't think ppl realize how impressive that volume of hands played is for HUPLO when you're known as the boss and nobody will play you. Insanely sick work ethic, crazy amount of effort and discipline. I doubt anyone in the world has even half as many hands at 10/20+ HUPLO over that time period. There was a time when I was thinking Cumi must be a group of players because I didn't think it was possible for a single human to play at that unwavering elite level for that many hours a day for that many months straight without a day off. (I'm pretty sure I counted 5 months straight without a single day off at one point, with each day having at least 10 hours straight open-sitting HU tables.) I told my inner circle of friends the past few years that he was one of the craziest phenomena to happen to online poker (esp this decade) in terms of both success but also effort and work ethic. Nice to see him finally getting some public recognition now. Will never forget our on-going daily battles that started in 2013 at 2/4 and quickly worked its way up to 25/50 and battling for table rights everywhere. Was always respectful and fun. GL in your future endeavours man.

Did your game change much since 2015?
Felt the same; was impossible to copy that style bec it tilted me after 5 minutes .

Big congrats for that discipline and the results.

Certainly, that puts cumicon in contention for best online poker player ever. Would love to hear more from him. Please, let someboday make a documentary about you or something along those lines. This is too epic to not be used as an inspiration for a wider audicence.

Like Lefort said I don't think many people realize how impressive cumicon's work ethic was. He put in 70hour work weeks for years taking VERY few days off (to the point where if he wasn't in the lobby for more than a week people were concerned something has happened to him). He also was almost always willing to defend tables even if it meant simultaneously playing multiple opponents at various stakes (like 5/10 and 25/50). And with little if any detriment to his game. A legendary grinder.

Not only that, but he always came across as a a very nice guy. A while back I had a fun player at 50/100 who asked for 1 more table. The HU lobby was full, all crushers, who no doubt were licking their chops hoping he would quit me and join them. But I figured there's no harm in asking each one of them if they could spare the table. All of them declined except cumicon who said fine and gave me his table (I assume he was very much aware of who I was playing and that it was -EV for him to agree). Would love to buy you a beer if I ever see you, sir. Congrats and good luck.

One time i asked him in chat why he played a certain way (checking 2nd nuts or something like that) and his answer was that its because he thinks i am a nit, at that point i realised that this man is a straight shooter. What he didnt know was that my bankroll was not sufficient to play zoom 10/20 hu and that i am a nit because i had to be, not because i really am one, and that i hated myself for playing like that

Would love a bit of insight here, not even from a strat perspective, but just from a life perspective. What do you feel was the #1 thing that made you so successful? Work ethic? A certain style of play? Adapting to opponents' styles of play? An uncanny sense of "feel" or reads?

In short, what's the #1 thing you think you do differently than everyone else?
