was just reading a bunch of the allin ev discussion and it seems that almost unilaterally everyone runs significantly under ev. i understand theres a posting bias but i dont think ive seen any long term graphs of ppl running above (or even at) EV. iggy posted one but tht was just one session. and without examing every little stretch in my hem i know over any 20k (or even 10k) hand stretch i am running 'under' ev and id be shocked if i found even a 5k hand sample that showed running above ev. i bitch to myself a lot that im always running under ev in PLO but im starting to think that it's somehow flawed. idk.

IDK, im 50ish BI's over AIEV this month over 80k hands, and way more then that over EV lifetime.

It's selection bias. Everyone likes to whine, nobody likes to acknowledge their good fortune.

It's actually more subtle than what I said but I was being lazy.

It's not so much that people don't like to acknowledge their good fortune as that they don't even *perceive* their good fortune.

Like a lot of people will fire up a couple of tables, play for 30 mins, win one BI, and feel subjectively that this is pretty much a standard result. When in fact it's far above expectation.

I think it takes quite a big heater before people even get curious about how far above AIEV they might have run.

What's the HUD program that most people use? Is it built-in to HEM or something?

Most people use HEM and check their All in Ev. Something seems funny.

what Micturition says is pretty right imo.

When u run 100 BI over ev u just don't post it. I know I didn't... My first 500k hands of SNE, I ran ~75 bi over ev, now for the last 500k hands I'm -300 bi below ev, I did post some graph at -200 but don't even bother anymore because, who cares and it just makes you feel worst overall and tilt even more to know/see how bad u keep running.

you dont post when you run hot because it jinxs you. if you already running bad what does it matter, jinxing yourself could only be good. i for the record was running pretty hot over about 15k hands.

these players are not the ones you want to stop playing so this is perfect. they run hot they are genius's, they run bad they are the most unlucky genius in the world where in fact they might not even be winning players.

ear xxxxxx,

The Full Tilt Poker Security department has recently concluded an extensive investigation and we have determined that some of your opponents were in violation of our site terms.

We have permanently closed all of the offending accounts. In cases of proven cheating, 100% of the confiscated funds are returned to the players who were victimized. The reimbursement calculation is based on the number of tournaments or hands played against the offending players, and the amount won or lost against them.

We have determined that you are entitled to a refund of $135.74 which will be placed in your account in the next 72 hours.
