So far I didn't post anything about my current downswing. I felt that it’s certainly not up to me to do any whining about running bad, because I’ve run very good at critical periods of my career in the past. Even now, with the downswing below, I still run above $EV for all of my poker hands, mainly by running very hot on 25-50 plo on stars for a long time. So don’t interpret this post as a total whine, since I can’t complain that hard really.
That being said, the last year have been pretty brutal and I think my graph certainly belongs in this BBV topic. I’ve always had the 30k bb’s in the back of my mind as a magic number, so since I’ve beaten that so far, I think the graph is worth posting
I do realize that I’m really fortunate that this downswing came at this moment in my career, because my (poker) life would have been looking very differently if it came at an early moment in my career. I’m also “lucky” in retrospect that I dropped down in limits as aggressively over the last year, so in $ amounts it isn’t as bad. I also know that I just showed the last 653k hands (graph is last 700k hands, but filtered for all Omaha. Others is mainly boring 20bb cap nlh with no real variance) and if I would show my total graph it would look a lot less bad, because I’ve been running really hot before this streak.
Over these hands in general I think I coped with running bad really well, but the last few weeks I noticed I started to act a bit grumpy in my normal life and tilt really easy. I took that as a clear sign that it would be good to reduce the variance for a while. So last 2 weeks I’ve been exclusively been playing 0,50-1 and 1-2 zoom, and I think I will keep doing that for a while. Let’s hope I don’t hit the 40k bb’s :P

sickening.
The hardest thing when not losing too much in $ but still losing a ****ton of buyins everyday is not getting your ego involved, and/or not starting to form new tendencies that arent optimal because you feel you need to change your game that might've been still been very solid while losing constantly...
