Are you the guy who was shouting about the dealer giving you a rubdown telling you that you had a full house when you busted the 5k NLHE? I'm the skinny English kid who doesn't say much at the tables.

nice graph sir. I want to play online poker so bad. I played live plo for the first time last night and tbh Im just not a fan. I couldnt even figure out how to pick up 4 cards in that slick side view so half the time I was just bringing them up to my face to read the hand.

that's it. i cant justify playing poker anymore. I just hope I can get a job somehow that's decent. can't go on doing this. Ive been grinding mindlessly most of the year. just sitting there watching tv. have only 1 poker friend. whatever. tl/dr....

somethings messed up with the pic, too small or something. i wont fix it. I feel really sick to my stomach atm. Poker just kills my soul when these things happens, its too anti social for me. and ive killed a large part of my life with poker. I really dont need it anymore, too tired.

gg. hopefully i can committ to not playing, usually the desire comes back the day after... or the week after. but it's an addiction.

It's only a 5K hands downswing. Take a break, suck it up and grind it all back.

that might be true, but i usually play 2/4 mostly. so its 100 buyins..

Feeling exactly the same way as you David. My downswing isn't even nearly that brutal but I'm just really struggling to deal with the variance (and the fact that I ****ing suck). Been playing for over 5 years, as a living for about 4. Graduated from uni at the end of last year and said I'd take this year off, grind and make my fortune then think about the real world after that. Turns out this year sucks, I'm breakeven on the year and I hate sitting in my room all day by myself on a computer.

So this week I pretty much just said **** it, I'm going to the Greek Islands for a few weeks and then coming home and figuring out how I can become a slave to the man.

PLO is the most soul destroying form of poker, if you are a) not completely emotionally detached to poker or b) running good. All that is 10x'ed if you dont balance your life with other stuff.

Ive played NL cash, mtts and plo all full time at various stages and its not even close imo.

Such a large part of plo is being a huge luckbox and winning more than your fair share of flips, hitting your gin turns when behind on flops more often, flopping like a champion in every 3 and 4 bet pot (yes its true for the vast majority of winners). So if this is not happening youre already at a severe disadvantage.

Couple that with how easy it is to tilt, and the general brutal nature of the game its lock for an anonymous plo-suicide line in the not too distance future.

So I guess just be aware you are doing the worst thing (isolating yourself) with the worst form of poker (devils game) and either make some changes in what or how you play and I think youd feel infinitely better. Before deciding to grind a 9-5! Which ive done as well and believe me is the real grind, unless youre really lucky. fu luck

5t, i think you may have run v good lifetime at nlhe mtts to say they're lower variance than plo cash.

Sure, if youre only playing large field mtts and sundays the variance is gonna be mind-bending.

What I actually said is PLO cash is more soul-destroying. Mtts have a structure, you get some variation in play. Also by the nature of NL you can much more easily see your edge and take solace in it even if youre losing.

Theres nothing like sitting down everyday for months on end at plo tables and losing to every gamble-tard getting it in with rags, yet somehow still having 39.7% equity vs your DS aces or being bitched in every 3 and 4 bet flop after getting someone to stick in half their stack pre as a dog. It happens all the time in plo for much longer periods of time because it is much closer to the norm of the game. Hence why it can feel so wretched.

My main point though was hes sitting inside all day, playing plo while running bad, so feeling desperate is pretty much gonna be inevitable unless he changes his setup.

It's been said several times already - PLO is all about running good at higher stakes and bad at lower. If you can't do that you get stuck at 2/4 for your entire career, just like me. If you can, you're becoming a boss like gavz

FML.

Do any casinos run short-handed plo cash games, or is this just unheard of in live play due to the fact its 60% of the rake? The game was 5-7 handed for a while and I did really well, and when it became 10 handed I did not adjust well. Plus, 10 handed plo is just lame. I did like how it was no max buy-in, it was 5/10 and avg stack was probably 4-5k.
