Well i got into Omaha Hi about 8 months ago.
I got tired of playing just no limit, but this game is going to be the end of me.
This ins't a whining thread, i do realize that i must be a donkey because my results are just horrible.
I have read books and forums on how to play this game. But it seems no matter what i do i just cant maintain any kind of level play.
I have never seen so many suckouts in my short online career. I know that omaha is a high variance game and i guess thats why i love it.
One day i will be up and then i just go down the tubes, I take breaks and try not to tilt, but its hard.
I got on a winning heater for about 2 1/2 days but i cant seem to get anything going since then.
Do u just have to be more patient in this game, because at this point, I'm giving up.

I'm gonna guess yes. But I really don't know, because I'm 1/3 way down the same road myself.

Thank goodness for B&M NLHE wins to make my micro PLO losses look tiny!

Post hands, read threads, think about the game.

Thanks for the advice, I will. I think about the game to much.

Thinking about the game is helpful, no question. But I tend to not know whether I'm thinking about it correctly or just reinforcing my own misimpressions.

Sounds like you go on tilt when you win. I do this too. I win a few days in a row and start trying to force the action, expecting to hit every draw and not thinking, analysing situations properly. It's a very emotional game, but getting emotionally involved makes you suck at it. So... errr... don't do that!

Good luck!

How long do you play for at a time? How many hours per day do you play? Also, are you one-tabling?

post your stats here, i would bet it won't take long to see where you're leaking money - there's a ton of help around if you ask for it

Yes; you have to be a lot more patient playing Omaha. Most importantly; you must remember that you need the nuts or be drawing to the nuts in this game. If you are constantly in pots with the second best this game will eat you up. I would really concentrate on each flop first determining what the nut is and secondly if you have the nuts or able to draw to the nuts. I haven’t seen your play but if there is a strong nut possibility on the flop and you don’t have it or can’t draw to it I hope your contemplating the “real” strength of you hand. It sounds like your finding yourself going to the river with a lot of second best and that can make a person sick real quick. Good luck and just start with some post flop basics again. Not saying this is your problem but know I have to go back to them once in awhile when I’m getting beat up sometimes. Hang in there and remember this game is all about having the nuts or drawing to the nuts.
