Hey everyone. What does everyone think of lines like these? Is it foolish to just try and let a hand develop and feel my way through, especially if i feel my opponent will play badly with the lead? I understand the value of fold equity and trying to get as much money in as fast as possible with a hand like this. In this hand, i was hoping to maybe induce a 3 bet from the BB. The game was fairly lively, i had just stacked the button when we got it in my AAxx vs his AJJK.

I just thought that rerasing pre wouldn't result in the sort of preflop pot size that i was aiming for. I think people are going to tell me to raise on every street, and bet out the river lol. Personally i think you need to take lines like these for balance, however you will end up with some tough river decisions, unless you make the nuts.

I prefer 3betting in this spot preflop, but calling is fine too. I think both leading and c/c flop is fine, and I like a CRAI on the turn.

I would just c/r the turn,as played lead river

3bet's good too given we're 3 handed

You're in a real tough spot on the river if another spade doesn't come but a 9,T,J,Q, or K comes. It'd definitely important to be sneaky and unpredictable with aces, but I think everyone's gonna tell you to get all in on the turn.

RR pre. On the turn, id usually just pound, but a check raise looks q nice.

3 handed I'd just 3bet pre. But make sure you balance it up by 3betting non-AA hands as well.

Calling pre is still fine from OOP though. I'd then C-C this flop and C-R turn.

I think people in omaha, when playing mid strength made hands, just don't seem to ever like just calling down, due to the nature of the game with all the drawing hands. I certainly understand that, but i think that taking a pure call down line, especially when stacks are such that you can check call every street and still end up getting it in, against someone with aggro tendencies, can occasionally get your opponent to perhaps get it in bad when he might have folded have you played strongly to him. This is especially true if you have been playing a fit or fold type game, trying to make a hand knowing that you can give up some small edges to gain a big one.

Basically, i think that many omaha players just try to keep pushing small edges that they feel they can accurately quantify in any given situation. I think expert play, however, involves getting into more uncharted grounds and taking on some harder variables to try and get yourself into some lucrative situations on the turn and river.

Sorry for the late night rant. 2+2 is a nice sounding board.
