3-betting pairs that aren't AA leaves you in a difficult flop spot when you don't flop a set. AA is different because the nut flush draw bails you out a lot, and they can't hit an overcard and get stubborn.
Unpaired hands hit the flop a lot more often than paired hands. I've probably never 3bet queens in my life unless it was AAQQ.
