i started out playing online and i have played PLO live a handful of times.

often times, i seem to have trouble keeping track of how much is in the pot, especially when the pot is multiway and so forth.

does anybody have any tips on improving your ability to count pots? i heard some dealers use certain methods to simplify the task..

Just practice and pay attention to every hand. Try to reconstruct how the hand's been played everytime and you'll get a good idea how much is in the pot This is good exercise for hold'em too.

Pretty simple I guess. Just notice how many people are in the pot. What it cost to see the flop and multiply the two. Basic math. Shouldn't take too long to become second nature.

If you want to make a pot size raise, take the bet to you multiply it by 3 and add what was in the pot prior to the bet.

Other than that its just practice, hopefully you have a good dealer who can add and track the pot easily

If all else fails you can announce pot. But that tends to slow the game down so you really should learn to count the pot. Damn NL players... lol.
