pot 168, villian bets pot, hero has 133 left to call. I have my opinion and really would appreciate opinions with an short explanation. I have my own one but would like to know yours first. This hand was part of a training video. Thats the reason i am asking... ;-)

I'm definitely calling. It should be slightly -EV at worst, and I'm assuming the purpose of the video was to demonstrate spew techniques, so obviously we have to follow through and gamble it up.

Hero 3bets CO and wants to float. SB makes it 54 preflop and CO and Hero Call. And now we have this situation... Does this help?

LOL. I am really not making training videos. If i would these would be only for people who play for the first time plo.

The 3bet isn`t that crazy preflop because the idea of hero was clear: try to 3bet and play heads up against CO. This ended up in a 4bet call against SB.

But what i am really interested in is now: Why would you all call?

My opinion is: Clear fold!

Give SB a sensible 4bet range and run propokertools sim, you'll see hero got >33% equity

OK. I posted this hand only because i want to learn. My thought is: Why would i risk 133$ in this spot when there are a lot of possibile hands that villian can have that would crush me. Of course there are a lot of hands that opponent can have where i get the necassary odds. BUT aren`t there also a lot of hands that would dominate me so bad that i would hope that i haven`t called? Aren`t the chances of beeing dominated to hard are imo much higher than the chance to get good odds to call.

I don`t know how to put this but my "feeling" says: Better avoid this confrontation and safe the money for a better spot because i think i would reduce also variance with a fold. I always prefer not to call if a play looks like +-EV for me when i am obv the dog.

Call and not even close. Obviously villain 4b preflop. But you know, it could have happened such that it was a multiway 3b pot, which dramatically increases the chance of running into the set rather than the aces, which you only have backdoor equity against.

There is no need to delete the post because of the stats i think. The hand is taken from a training video and so these stats are available for everyone.

But i still don`t think that i would call here. I can live with the statement that it is +-0 EV (or maybe very, very slight +EV) to call and therefore i would save the money that i would call with to reduce variance in general. Not "necessary" to call here.
