idk i think i can C/R flop. the deep villain is competent, plays 30/20/4% 3bet over a considerable sample. but then there is still utg. who is 49/20

what i do ?

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
PL Omaha $1(BB) Poker Stars
SB ($186)
Hero ($177)
UTG ($100)
UTG+1 ($99)
CO ($281)
BTN ($84.50)

Dealt to Hero A 9 5 A

fold, UTG+1 raises to $3.50, CO raises to $12, fold, fold, Hero calls $11, UTG+1 calls $8.50

FLOP ($36.50) 5 2 3

Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, CO bets $22, Hero folds, UTG+1 folds

CO wins $34.70

i like it. too deep to 4bet and a cr would be okay but prolly break even 3way, without seeing utg's reaction.

Spots like these often make me consider folding crappy aces preflop.

I also like very much. Having the discipline to snapfold flop in this situation will only make you money in the long run because you are using the correct analysis here, even if you are folding the best hand sometimes. You are OOP and 200BB deep, so even if your aces are good on this flop often enough you would hate every turn and river and you will have to c/c and play guessing games. I mean if you c/c flop you are only super happy to call river with runner runner full house or if the board pairs on turn...maybe. You don't even have BDFD.

As for preflop, I also think calling is the only good option. We cannot fold because we do hit nut flush sometimes or flop pair+nutFD. Also if an Ace flops, many agro villains will start drooling and try to 3-barrel you representing top set, so you can get lots of value.

I don't mind flatting PF or 4betting and I think it really depends on how CO is likely to react, both pre and postflop: if he'll fold if you 4b, then I think I'd probably do so. However, his postflop play is more important: if he's capable of making your life miserable and taking pots away or if he'll get it in light enough that you're not comfortable with the possibility of variance, I think just flatting is ok.

However, I also kinda like the idea of leading, though I'd probably bet something like 28ish or so; I don't particularly like a c/r.
