haha, I was about to say somebody's getting a nice bonus this year! Congrats maeng. My company is doing pretty well this year too, although I just got promoted so my bonus/raise will be based on what is likely to be a "meets expectations" rating. Napsus 1, me 0

But, I thought bonus season is already over, so you are happy that you'll earn more money next year, I assume.
i'm mostly happy about the prospects for the future. our business is making a killing, easily the best year coming...basically freerolling already and we have 8 months to go

but also i got my bonus in march, part of which was deferred.
1/3 cash (this is the only one i saw in my account)
1/3 bonus bank
1/3 to be paid in 2-3 yrs

so i'm fairly sure to get 1/3 - 2/3 of march bonus this summer after we have repaid the bank. not counting on it, but would be lovely.

yeah naturally the risk of getting fired increases if i don't deliver...

to be honest i consider myself a loser working for a bank like that. Provotrout 1, Napsus 0. i'm just gonna cash out for the hours i've been putting the last years and then one morning...

Well if anything you can rest assured knowing you pushed yourself and succeeded. Until then gl with the grind (poker too obv).

My brother is much happier these days now that he left the lawfirm, lots more time with his kids, etc. He talks fondly of the firm paychecks of last year though

have you ever seen it performed live?

the difference between reading it and seeing it live is amazing, i live in dublin so i've had a chance to see it several times and i've always loved it, it doesn't really come across how funny it is until you see it on the stage.

in terms of reading beckett,i really enjoyed his first novel murphy as well as first love and other stories. molloy is fairly weird and intense but absolutely incredible once you get inmmersed in it.

Mainstream coverage of poker is a joke.
I agree. I really did not like the underlying message from this part, "It is impossible to see Cates and Griffin sitting side by side in their apartment, backlit by three monolithic computer screens, and not wonder when Cates’s day of reckoning will come. Was the million-dollar loss to Gus Hansen the beginning of the end for jungleman12?"

I think his point is less about Cates and more about winning poker players in general, that we are all on upswings which will someday end...

I liked this part though... "Hansen asked Cates if he would like to play some Pot Limit Omaha (P.L.O.), a form of poker known for its wild swings and even wilder betting patterns."

I'm having a hard time reconciling the standard (US, perhaps) perception of an opera-fan with someone that would choose to use that avatar.

Next time I'd advise you to go out as well. Socializing is something poker players like us always run the risk of running low on.

Ok every single one of you should do this.

Will not take many minutes from your day and is relatively easy. I have done this like 1½ years ago and got to a hundred but slacked alot after that so I'm starting again from week 3 or 4. Gooooooo!

2 months ago I tried 100kg from bench, 3k from cooper and 100 pushups in dif. days. I did it

brag

100 pushups was hardest for me, last 20 I probably "cheated" a bit

swap hundred pushups with handstand from crouch imo... I'm not strong enough yet to push myself up completely but I can last like 12 seconds of trying per rep without my knees supporting, when I started it was only a few seconds, I figure couple of months Ill be able to do it properly then i will start to learn 1 handed and fingertip variations, then onto walking on my hands and one day jumping. Also important to do loads of stretches and boxing exercises so you can punch people in the eye with your knuckle or key real quick if need arises.

why stop at 100 also, its a bit dumb imo, and wouldn't take long unless your overweight in which case you are better of doing cardio. ONly doing push ups is a bit stupid also, put some dips and pull ups in there aswell
