I ended up thinking his small bet on the turn was a 'keep me in the hand' bet when he fired a big bet on the river.... maybe i'm a nit but that was the deciding factor for me.. :-(

I think it's fine, his line is pretty consistent with Txxx. Against certain loose / tricky players I probably call given there's gonna be wraps and jxxx in their flop range, and your hand is pretty face up by the river. But vs most it's a pretty easy fold.

thks CB, he's a winning reg at high stakes and knows ima bit nitty.. i was just concerned that my hand (even tho you say was face up) was slightly under-repped... i was calling turn to expect him to give up on river ... but the follow through for me confirmed the strength of his hand... he knew i was holding an overpair and fired... seemed strong... later on i just wondered if he got me off the same hand but 90 pct sure he wouldnt play it that way... thanks again

he's bets 60% on the turn so i woudnt say it was a small bet but i cant work out what he calls you on the flop with that you can beat. would he really float the turn or call with Jxxx?
guess the flop slammed his calling range JTxx etc

Not that i play on these stakes but i cant recall ever seeing a bluff in this spot. And the guy with the a always seem to take a line to to milk out the aa hand. At least if they are thinking. Think its not even close, espeically since thney expect to be called. I have a question though, do ppl see the big small to bet big later used as a bluff often? I do agree with you that it looks so strong but i dont follow this up by calling in those spots, and this has made me contemplate if people use this line to bluff alot.
