thoughts on this ? villain is a casual fish who does crazy stuff at times. he won a big pot 2cnd hand and open limped the btn for the next 40 hands or so, we only played really small pots until this developed.

thoughts ? input appreciated for all streets.

would he raise any boat on the river? does he slowplay often?

Seems like a pretty clear fold to me.

There's only 3 hands we beat here.
1. Random spades that double floated, which I think is unlikely.
2. A bad 5xxx that decided to turn itself into a bluff, even less likely.
3. 68 that's trying to get you to fold a chop, pretty much impossible.

I just don't see how he can have anything else, and since 2 and 3 are barely in anybodies range, I think 1 is the only possibility and even that is discounted by the fact that most villain's won't double peel a spade-draw on a paired board.

that makes me want to call, as fishes tend to be polarized with river raises.

Gotta call, these people repot 5xxx prior to the river (mostly OTF) and you block 77

i snap fold here. Sometimes i wait for like 3 seconds, becuase i hate folding, but i do it anyway. fish dont bluff here. so you gotta have a read they do.

If your read that he doesn't slowplay is correct think this is a call. I think he pretty much has to have flopped a boat or have 446x to have you beat, since someone not prone to slowplaying should be raising all his naked 5's on that flop given that there is a flush draw and many straight draws. I mean, my initial read was, he has 57xx 77xx quite a bit but if he would raise those hands on flop or turn then I think you can make a profitable hero. That's a big assumption though, and it doesn't sound like your read on this was solid.

I can see some random fish "who does crazy stuff at times" spazzing out with a bricked nfd or an overpair here

River is a very clear check call.

is he the type to blocker bluff? i.e. raise or 3bet with the nut flush blocker etc. ?

I like this the best. I think betting was incorrect unless you really think he stations off any 7x

I like check/call better yeah, you're not making a big profit with this vbet against anybody but a big station. And c/c helps balance better.

As played, I'd fold, but wouldn't like it.

given your description of villain I prefer a c/c, if he does crazy stuff, your half pot river vbet might have induced him and we are in a tough spot now.

I usually just bet fold here without a ton of thought, I think check call is interesting, but I cant figure out if it outweighs the betfold. The fact that villain is up and has been trying to play small ball makes this a super easy fold from my exp.

Doesn't he have more floats in his range than worse hands that will pay us off?

edit: It just seems that either he has us crushed with a slow played boat, or is on random air. So why bet fold? He should never get to the river with just a five and pay us off like this, and the amounts that he heroes with 7x or overpair+spades should be negligable.
