Villain is a 20/17 TAG, pretty scrappy postflop, not enough hands to converge a flop c/r stat but he seems to be playing back at nothing boards a decent amount.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
PL Omaha $2(BB) Replayer
SB ($218)
BB ($140)
CO ($267)
Hero ($371)

Dealt to Hero 8 Q Q K

fold, Hero raises to $4, fold, BB calls $2

FLOP ($9) 4 2 7

BB checks, Hero bets $6.75, BB raises to $23.62, Hero?

Don't really like any option here.

easy flop b/f until you have tangible reads

i agree it's prob a b/f, wouldn't say it's exactly an "easy", no-brainer one given what we have to go on, esp w/ bdfd, 70bb, and a board that shouldn't hit a 20/17 range blind calling range all that hard (even tho it was just mr to him bb)

fold is standard as played, its good to check back this board with your hand once in a while too

someone beat me to it, but i like a check back a good % of the time, more so if we had 2 bdfds

Yeah checking back is good like half of the time, but if you bet you have to b/f.

Not sure why we fold here. Information was given he attacks dry boards often enough to call once on the flop and play position on the turn.

I like Monikrazys line with checking back the flop once we know he is likely to attack dry textures and force us to fold/make tough decissions.

When we ckbk, are we giving him credit for any straight bringing card even tho he hasn't (maybe didn't get the chance to) show any interest on the flop? Turn T or J and get lead into, are we continuing? I feel like I'd be guessing more in this spot than in assigning him a certain amount of shenangins in his flop c/r'ing range.

B/F until you get more reads. You don't want to check here, imo, because in later hands when you bet he might think (correctly) 'ah he caught a piece' and might not try this same thing again when we have a much stronger hand. I think B/F is the right way to go here, especially HU.
