Anybody have one? Recommendations for specific models? Worth the exorbitant price? Is there a cheaper alternative? I'm intrigued by the idea of playing poker all day while reclined in one of these things. I have a computer desk that can be adjusted to standing height, so I could just slide the chair under it and presto! Completely relaxed poker living.

When will science realize it's gone too far?

I was hoping for a floating chair that used magnets or something. You know, like hover boards from Back to the Future only in chair form.

Yes! This is what I'm talking about. Except with a 30" LCD, no keyboard, and less distance between me and the monitor. The weight is over!

That's not you is it r0eky?

I'm trying to get my wife to agree to getting one of the chairs. They're extraordinarily comfortable IMO. She's unlikely to go for that 3 monitor desk thing

Have you shopped around for them? What's the best brand/store for these? Those monitor extensions are add-ons you can get later.

i've only been to Relax the Back store to try them out. They seem spendy there - when we are ready to pull the trigger I will shop around. Might just buy from that store since it's local.

you know you're gonna double your weight in no time with such a chair right? Our body burns 70% of our fat in passive positions, but with this....not so much lol, don't let the slender ginger kid fool you!

Where have I seen these before... Hmmm, Perhaps any dental office?

Personally, I think any big fat comfy recliner should work great. Or as I am now... lying in bed, laptop on my chest.

LOL @ "the best in esthetics"

I think they confused "best" with "not quite worst"

leaning back like that would kill your concentration. there is a reason your teacher always told you to sit up in class.

the zero g chairs raise your legs more than a dentist chair, or other regular recliner. Basically it doesn't "open" your hip/pelvis area as much as a regular recliner.

Trip report: Went to Relax the Back today to check these out. They had a Sanyo model that was $2800 that included a massage function, which was cool. They also had a chepo brand for about a grand, but it was pretty weak. I decided the Human Touch brand (I believe that is one in the picture above) were the best value. There were lots of options as you'd expect. Manual/electric, leather/microfiber, wood base/upholstered. In my opinion leather and electric is the only way to go. If you're spending this much on a chair, you shouldn't skimp on the details. Electric versions are $300 more.

In the end, I decided on the upholstered version over the wood base because it's more cushioned and comfy: http://www.relaxtheback.com/human-to...393672-6389767

They are having a sale ending Sunday where any floor model or item in their warehouse is 15% off. So this will be $1700. I think I can get the tax comped by getting my chiropractor to write me a prescription. I'm torn between cashew and espresso, but I'm leaning to espresso. The cashew will brighten a room more, but I think the espresso looks better, maybe because it hides the ugly design a little more.

Btw, having your legs up makes it way more relaxing than a regular recliner. It's amazing how much better you feel after sitting in one for a few minutes. Reclining all the way horizontal won't be practical for playing poker though. I didn't feel like I'd be able to work in that position.

Any ideas on how I can add an extension on the armrest to put a mousepad on? That is the only thing I'm worried about.

some of their models can have accessories attached like this... not ideal for mouse imo:

also FYI - at their website (relaxtheback), at the very top it says they will match any advertised price.
