WHat do you splurge on? Im not talking about one timers, like a 50" flat screen, but one that is recurring daily, weekly or a few times a year. Something that you can do without, or substitute relatively cheaply.
Mine is fresh berries. I spend $4/day almost everyday. I buy the mixed bowl (blue, black, rasp and straw) 3 at a time form the market. When I think about it, Im like I cant believe I spend over $100/month on berries. But I dont care, as it has already become an addiction.
premium beer. I could do like every other college drinker and get PBR or some really cheap ****, but the price difference is pretty small and I definitely would rather get something decent. Probably 1-2 12-packs a week?
I understand the berries....I only buy fresh Veggies...I wont buy anything frozen. Sometimes I get canned fruit and such for sauces though, cant find fresh mandarin oranges.
the list is huge..... I eat at nice restaurants almost every day, I buy way too much alcohol, I buy a dumb amount of new shoes for no reason..... I really could be doing myself a huge favor and saving more.
instead of buying a big jug of post workout protein that would last me forever, i always buy the shake at the gym that costs like 5 bucks a shake. they are so good!
delivery is probably the biggest completely unnecessary one. other than that, i dunno, rent for a place that is much nicer than i need. after a prolonged downswing you tend to realize that just because you can afford something maybe doesnt always mean you should buy it.
I'm addicted to getting packages. Unless somethings on the way from Cabela's, Amazon, Cigar.com etc I just don't feel right. It used to be eBay, thank god I got over that since 90% of it was junk, but there is nothing like the feeling of going out and seeing a huge box of Cabela's stuff waiting for me, its like Xmass every week. I don't care if they have a store right next to me with the same stuff, I have to get it in a package.
what the hell is up with this thread? bunch of life nits in here imo
anyways, my additions:
while i was living in vegas this summer, me and newhizzle would always FORCE tongni (against his will) to buy us dozens of fiji waters, at $5/bottle, when the store had $8.99/50 pack of cheap generic nestle brand waters
also i would insist on there always being green tea available...god help them if there wasnt green tea...arizona brand, always
Super Paper Mario - Owned for 2 months
Grand Theft Auto IV - Owned for 4 months
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Owned for 1 month
Mario and Star Wars are still in the shrinkwrap, and GTA IV has been played for about 4 hours. I keep buying new games thinking that they're going to be a ton of fun - even though I know I never have time to play them.
Also, the $4.99 movies that Best Buy always has on special. I can't resist a $5 good movie. However, Netflix has cured this one.
