Good one. As alobar pointed out many people give far more of their wealth by percentage than Gates. But he is obv a good person on a lot of levels

There is more evil than good in this world imo. Because of that I would think it would be much harder to be the best person, but maybe you are right.

The Beatles too because of their musical skills.
Good point. Yeah, I see that for sure. I am not sure about the beatles though, I am too young for them I think.

curing cancer would be beyond amazing. I am watching The West Wing, on season three (2002) they were going to put this quote in the Presidential address: "In ten years there will be a cure for cancer." It sucks the oncologist that stated that was wrong. Someday though.

Thanks to SuperUberBob and one other person for saying Aung San Suu Kyi. I am glad to know of her now.

For those who were skeptical of the Dalai Lama, let me add some more things to hopefully bolster his credentials.
After the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, the Nobel Committee awarded the Dalai Lama the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize. The Dalai Lama was a 2007 recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian award bestowed by American lawmakers.
Buddhism makes the world a better place, that is my opinion. He is the world's most famous Buddhist. His teachings during lectures, from books and in films do a great amount of good. He is a spiritual leader, he helps everyone who listens/understands him. My guess is that people who don't like him on this list have not read one of his books, or seen one of his educational videos. I may, of course, be wrong.
And finally, one of the Dalai Lama's biggest focuses is on other peoples suffering. He has figured out how to make other people's suffering go away. That is his genius. Can you imaging listening to someone for 15 minutes and having your suffering go down even if you are dirt poor and have no belongings in the world? Surely that should count for something.
apologies if you posted a serious response and I didn't quote it here.
