So am I to infer here that you ascribe the huge reduction in infant mortality solely to increased sanitation and believe that vaccinations have a negligible or adverse effect?

This is your problem - you just imagine. I already posted life expectancy differences by age from 1900 to 2005, but here it is again: http://stay-healthy-enjoy-life.blogs...rsus-1900.html

Anyway, I think I'm done with this. Honestly, when I have children I'll be able to support almost any life choice they make - but if they grow up with this big of a delusion and lack of understanding of basic math/probability/logic/common sense I'll be extremely disappointed and feel that I was a complete failure of a parent.
The cause of death breakdown on that site is cool.

Here is one ive posted elsewhere which i really like:

No, he didn't recant. He was found out and then lost his license to practice in Britain.

At first I thought this was the best part of this thread...

First result on google for "doctor struck off vaccine":
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8695267.stm

Fwiw the Lancet journal that published the anti vaccine propaganda made a full apology for not fact checking it enough. His entire body of work in the area is discredited, but DCJ will be along soon to talk about how its a conspiracy.

DCJ, vaccine question.

i am in dental school. hepatitis b is a problematic disease for dentists, very easily acquired via needlestick or any other blood exposure. there is a vaccine for it. do you recommend i get the vaccine or not and why?

DCJ, if you don't mind, I'd like to try fielding this one for you.

wahoo3 - I wouldn't recommend it. Look at your grandparents. Were they dentists? If so, did they get hepatitis b? If not, you're cool. If they did, there's nothing thats going to help anyway. So you're just ****ed.

If they weren't dentists, it's a little murkier. But I don't know any dentists that got hepatitis b, so I still think its unnecessary.

As a side note, hepatitis b doesn't actually exist. It was the Queen's idea to discourage dentists around the world so that everyone's teeth would look as bad as the British.

No, no, no, it's his own fault for buying into the dental conspiracy.

It's pretty sad you can't even understand common sense observations.

I wouldn't expect any less from somebody who mocks a handicapped child as their avatar.

It probably isnt true of all cancers, some definitely are dropping, others id be shocked if they arent rising simply due to the higher amount of radiation we have through flight, mobile phones and so on, but thanks to health and safety testing it isnt nearly as bad as it used to be as we arent using stuff like asbestos and lead paint.

But the most important figure is survival rates, with better screening for early detection and treatment for when it is diagnosed.
Smoking rates decreasing has to be a huge factor too.

It's not common sense that you can look at two egg yolks and know which one is healthier for you (aside from one being completely rotten - which you weren't talking about). You get that right?

Do you also think brown eggs are healthier for you?

The yolks of organic eggs are a far crisper, deeper yellow, that's why I said check it out for yourself.

If you stopped and thought about it for a second- never mind your not beyond knee-jerk reactions, all you and your ilk have been is an piss-poor, pugnacious wall of brick.

You had time to post this three times, but not enough time to hit ctrl-f.

Or look at the history of my posts, after you searched my threads created to even ask that question.

If the Guardian can't consistently find a health difference between organic food and regular food, then I doubt there is one to be had.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environmen...-nutrition-fsa

Of course other studies have gone the other way, so it'll still up in the air, but by no means can anyone be sure organic food is significantly better for them than regular food.

You have weight loss logs on here and were a rotund pig by your own admission up until... well I don't know if you are or not.

But seeing as you reference poor food choices in your logs, you really have no right to be acting like such a douche to the healthy fooders itt.

The Guardian reported on a study that reported results, and then says that those results aren't definite.

That's not even tangentially related to an endorsement for or against organic food.
