If I am on my way to my car and someone is 5 feet behind me following me to my car and then doesn't even allow enough room for me to back out, I stay in the car until the d-bag leaves.

[x] idiots
[x] winnie the pooh the jean jackets
[ ] smiles
[x] low prices
[x] employees more suited to be carnies
[x] high school dropouts

For the record I hate Walmart but there are too many things there that are cheaper than anywhere else and they know that.

The Walmart in my city is a far cry from those they try and show on tv with happy-go-lucky employees and customers. Everyone seems to know how much it sucks but are in the same boat that it's more affordable, so everyone is in a bad mood and rude to each other.

Granted I've been other Walmarts where you can actually not dirty and crowded. As far as the interracial couples, I meant know offense just that I see them more at Walmart then anywhere else I go, but like stated previously it's probably because there are just more people there, percentages, and so on.

Well, what kind of inter-racial couples are we talking about here? I mean, white guy with asian woman, that's obviously OK. Or a white guy with a light-skinned, Halle Berry-type black woman, sure, that's fine. But those mandingo fellas with the white chicks, that's disgusting amirite?

Shopping should be an enjoyable experience. Just last Sunday, I went to the supermarket and bought some frozen scallops, imported from Japan. I also picked up some Haagen-dazs Baileys ice cream, and Movenpick vanilla ice cream. Also got some chicken broth (to make the reduction for my pan-seared scallops)

Anyway, I haven't gone to the supermarket to buy basic stuff for months, my maid does that. Seems so passe for grown humans to buy stuff and cart things around. If it pisses you off that much to shop at Costco, don't go!

LFS- That **** is funny man. You have been on fire for like, well, a long time.

OP- Originally I was apprehensive about Sam's/Costco, I saw it as Wal-Mart on steroids. Kind of a weird judgment based on the crazy quantity of purchase + quality of people I thought would be in there.

Then I found out how much money I would save a year on razors. This is big for me since I shave my head. Seriously +EV. They have other good deals to but mostly it is just a mess in there with hundreds of people fighting for space to drive their cart.

I understand what you are saying even though you come off the wrong way--I think that is just the way you write. The people in these places are just inconsiderate and LFS put it really well.

I was in Costco a couple weeks ago, waiting in line to checkout. The woman behind me is uncomfortably close, pushing her cart within inches of me every time I move up. Finally she runs into the back of my ankles. I turn around wondering is I can get at least an acknowledgment and she just stares a hole through me. Where's the fire lady? I just go into Costco knowing that someone rude is going to do something to me and I just let it go. Expecting decency is a little much when going there.

RDH,

I can't find proof, but the internet says you are correct. I will have to try this!

I tried to look up Costco's terms of membership, and got this 2mb pdf. It only mentioned alcohol in the 2% rewards program (doesn't apply). And the only thing it explicitly said you don't need a membership for is the pharmacy.

Also, I put some wine in my online cart and tried to check out, and saw this blurb.

Are you a Costco member? If so, please enter the membership number from the back of your Costco membership card. Non-members pay a 5% surcharge for costco.com purchases, except for prescription drugs and gift certificates.

Not conclusive.

Their posted terms and conditions were only on using costco.com the website and didn't cover their membership agreement.

But there are "stories" on the internet of being able to buy just booze, slickdeals actually lists the states as... Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Texas and Vermont. Obviously the specifics add credibility.

Some suggest asking at the front for a temporary "alcohol only" pass. The only thing taking away from the testimony is that you can just get a temporary pass anyway, it doesn't have to be for just booze.

Link to Slickdeals thread... my gut tells me it will work.

This is probably good advice and I will try to heed it but it just goes against the core of me. Rude people is probably the thing that bothers me the most and for some reason I feel like I should do something or say something. Don't worry I'm not at the assault rifle/tall building stage yet but I am pretty young and there are a lot of d-bags out there.

Wow, a lot of people suck at Costco.

Anybody dumb enough to go to Costco on the week-end (especially Friday evening and Saturday afternoon) deserves exactly what they get. Try week-day mornings.

have you ever considered that you could be that d-bag at costco?

When I was but a starry-eyed boy, I used to love shopping. The crowds, the rampant excited consumerism, the stores full of food and clothes and toys.... an 8-year-old's wet dream. My dad, however, hated it. I never understood why.

Then, 18 years later, I went to a Sam's Club on a Saturday.

I used to sell cell phones at one of the kiosks inside of a Costco, that place is 100x nicer than Sam's Club. I think the main reason is that Sam's Club membership is $30, while Costco's is $50. Providing there are both in the area, the majority of the white trash/mexicans tend to go to Sam's Club.

FYI, no benefit in having scallops frozen/imported/Japan. You want them as fresh and local as possible.

I haven't used bonque in a while. It should be okay to use now without it being overused I think.

OP,

A Ranch 99 store is much worse than any Costco for d-baggery. A whole different level of pain and aggrevation - from the parking lot through the entire store.
