What's the threshold on flight time where you would give up an aisle/window seat for a middle in order to accommodate parents with an 11 month old who had the two middles in the same row?

Spoiler:
I said no on a 4 hour flight this morning and don't think it was at all close.

YB,

Depends on who's sitting in the other aisle/window.

2 hour flight usually yes.
4 hour flight sometimes.
6 hour flight usually no.

The screen you choose will be at least as important as the projector. You will need a grey screen to get any contrast at all. (Depending, of course, on how light it is outside.) This is the second theater I've built and I redid the screen six times before I was satisfied. (I ended up embedding mica flakes in clear emulsion for depth, along with pure white semi gloss, lol.)

And I don't pretend that they are going to give up easily. I expect we will be fighting over my being refunded the charge, that's what they've done to everyone else. I'm meeting with the police this week. Ah, the fun of life!

No threshold for me personally I don't think, would almost always give up the seat, unless maybe it was 8+ hrs and/or I was in bad mood.

I can def understand why people wouldn't want to do it for 3+hr flights tho.

Yes, agree. And the window seat occupant I would've been moving next to was a, um, significant woman.

Seemed like it was settled and they were going to be separate, but karma bit me in the ass and the fatty took the middle right after takeoff, making me both the ******* and miserable.

Does it matter that they had a baby? What if it was just a couple that wanted to sit next to each other? I would tend to say no either way.

That is a question where a lot of people might say they will say no, but put in the actual situation will always say yes.

It would be more a who is the first sucker out of the 4 options to cave.

Middle seats make my life miserable so never giving it up in any circumstance. Sawwy. If you're ok giving it up is probably the pro play because they will rustle you even more sitting seats apart from each other while you're stuck in the middle.

How about if you're in the middle seat at an exit aisle? I had this where the guy in the window seat just could not understand why I wouldn't swap with his wife's window seat 20 rows back. Fortunately I have really good headphones.

At the end of the flight the wife came up to me and also said "why wouldn't you swap"?

Did,

The baby makes a huge difference.

would have to be some outrageous circumstances that lead me to leave an exit row for a non-exit row. Im generally inclined not to switch on principle, learn to buy tickets together instead of hoping the world bends to your will yambags

Why didn't the man try to swap to the back?

People have crappy seats on airplanes because they either purchased a cheap fare or waited until the last minute. I paid for the ability to choose my seat and I will keep it, thank you very much.

Baby is the only thing that made me think about switching. Never taking a worse seat in your scenario.

You should have asked the the wife why her hubby didn't offer to trade his exit-aisle window seat with the person in the middle seat next to her.

Did, Gregorio: the obvious answer to that is that person was not traveling alone.

Did: what yb said. And while sometimes it's what you said and their fault for not planing properly, there are many reasons not fully under people's control resulting in seating situations like that.

The Sling TV promo for 7 days free may finally have me cutting the comcast cord. The list of base channels seems legit for $20 and works through a number of devices. I was also recently looking into Roku but also have an Xbox One in house.

ESPN, ESPN 2, CNN, Disney Channel, TNT, TBS, ABC Family, Food Network, HGTV, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Spanish-language Galavision and the recently added AMC

Ugh, we got rerouted due to a delayed flight when Tycho was three months old and ended up in separate middle seats. No one offered to switch and Kyle wouldn't let me ask because he didn't want anyone to feel pressured. Everyone on that flight enjoyed Tycho screaming for two hours. Worst flight ever.

If there's a baby/young kid, I'll probably switch for short-medium flights.

If its just a couple I'm never switching. I was on an almost full flight from New York to Las Vegas where I'd gotten the window seat with an empty middle seat between me and this other lady.

A couple came up and asked one of us to switch with one of them so that they could sit together. The lady and I looked at each other and were both like, "nope". The couple were 2-3 rows apart and would occasionally make comments to each other during the flight about how they wished they could sit together.

at times, kyle seems really good at keeping his women in line. other times....not so much.
02-09-2015 , 07:05 PM
my last fight i gave up my aisle seat to an MMA guy who had the middle. he claimed he couldn't fit in the middle (he basically couldn't... his body was roided out of control) so i switched. of course it sucked dick. never again! (but prolly would do again :/)
02-09-2015 , 07:08 PM
i'll basically give in to just about any nominal request a random women makes, but would tell any non-elderly man to eat bricks.

This Kyle fella sounds like a swell guy.
