looks like the sandwiches served in cafes in macau that I ate all the time in another life when gluten hadn't yet begun to try to kill me

Spam and corned beef are both huge there I think. Just like spam is big in Hawaii and used in some Korean dishes. I assume the us military is behind all of it.

correct

most spam dishes in korea have "american soldier" in the name

likewise you can thank your love of ramen on the USA as well as we flooded the country with wheat post wwiii and niche chinese noodle made from flour became a big portion of the diet

Glad you liked it, you should be able to get it pre seasoned or the seasoning for it if you can find a Filipino grocery or sari sari store.
