Ratio completely depends on how big your "cup" is.
James Hoffman recommends 60g/L, so 30g for 500ml, and 15g for 250ml. 250ml is close to a measured cup (8oz) so if that's what you meant then yes, that sounds perfect. If you meant "cup" as in a "mug" that might be 12+oz, then 20ish gs sounds right.
It's crazy how cheap a good starting pourover set is. I have two hario starter sets and love them.
Also using a hario, it's great, so easy and super consistent. Yes cup as in 8oz.
I just bought a bidet attachment to my toilet. I'm pretty excited about that, the on point cleaning after the evacuation of my bowels seems like a new level of tech even tho Crocodile Dundie was making fun of it in the 80s.
anyone have a food sealer/saver? Worth it? Good brand? In the pandemic I’ve been making some lunch breakfast foods in bulk on my grill and New Blackstone griddle. Rotisserie chicken pieces on the grill and egg frittata circles And cheesesteaks on the griddle are examples. Cumbersome to freeze in foil or Saran Wrap.
There was a little bit of vacuum sealer talk one of the cooking threads recently, not sure if it was the steak or everything else thread, but there's definitely some knowledge there if you don't get a satisfactory answer here. Someone linked a pretty fancy high end restaurant quality sealer that was highly recommended.
how long are you 'preserving' them before eating? if it's only a day or two i'd probably go with a reusable tupperware type container instead of throwaway plastic vac sealer bags.
We have had a Nesco V602 for almost two years. I don't use it, but my wife really likes it. As I recall it took her a fairly short period of time to learn to use it effectively.
I do like the way we have been able to freeze steaks and even racks of baby back ribs during the pandemic so we don't have to make so many trips to the store. It has done a much better job of freezing than anything we have used previously, but it is our first food sealer.
ETA: It is great for use with sous vide which is what we originally got it for.
The purpose is freezing mostly. It’s just the two of us so sometimes lots of leftovers intentionally made for lunches (and now breakfast with the circle frittatas). Saving $ in the time of covid.
We but our meat at Wegmans so the bulk packages already come individually sealed.
Not life-changing or anything, it's a $3 jar of salsa, but this stuff is great. It's got some kick and goes great on breakfast tacos, regular tacos and more.
Wow. Yeah, good luck to him. Did he put this in motion before January and just couldn't put it on pause? Or does he just have a really really bad sense of timing?

He sensed an opportunity! There are restaurants who's sales have gone up since the pandemic (Chick-Fil-A, Raising Cane's).
I bought breakfast at a new business that a friend of mine opened... directly across the street from UNLV main.
scary time for him to try this out.
Gloves and a mask would seem like somethings you suggest he invests in. Las Vegas is obviously full of idiots, but why not pitch in a couple extra dollars for protection and peace of mind. The shared condiments and soda machine are idiotic as well. May have to move this to worst thing you bought recently thread along with my ice cube trays.
Maryland Pkwy?
I saw a thousand businesses go through that strip. Bars, restaurants, fast food, book stores, kinko's, 7/11, tobacco/weed. No one made it work the East side of that strip.
these c*cksuckers ship these beautiful prints rolled... it takes about a week or two before they begin to 'Relax' enough to lay flat so I can really get the print flattened out. You can see a nice stack of art underneath the Mann being 'flatten'.
