Weird stuff you can't explain/paranormal stuff topic

When I was about fourteen or so I had a collection of 'piggy banks' on a shelf above the head of my bed suspended by brackets. There were about eight to ten banks and these things were made out of iron or some other heavy material and more or less 100% filled with coins. In the middle of one night I woke up for no particular reason, sat up, and no more than five seconds pass before the shelf collapses onto my pillow.

Some years ago now my uncle, my fathers brother got sick with lung cancer caused by asbestos (Mesothelioma) my father was always real close with him and my father has always felt that something spiritual exists in life whereas I don't believe in that nor religion. One morning he gets a call from his sister andd the first thing he says is he passed away last night didn't he? to which he was correct.

Now I was impressed by this as he later told me he woke up in the middle of the night and said he felt it some how. Skeptically I thought he ws just assuming the call was for the worse.

just recently my grandfather contracted prostate cancer one night I woke up and had to take a piss at abuout 3 am in the morning my father was up sitting at the table, I asked what was up and he said Poppa's passed away. I asked if someone had called he said he could just feel it like he did his brother. Needless to say his sister called the next day to tell him he'd passed away during the night. Not as scary as some of the other stories but really struck me as odd.

I'm gonna say I'm rather agnostic regarding the supernatural

I will share though that after I'd been smoking weed and hashish non stop for about a year, I spent a few months in what they diagnosed as psychosis and will confirm that I have first hand seen, felt, heard and experienced a ton of ****ed up things. Whether they be real or not, I do not know, odds likely are no. Everything then was as real as the air I breathe and the chair I'm sitting on. I am perfectly comfortable with the idea of somebody experiencing something while fully conscious, such as seeing ghosts and I won't debate as to whether those experiences are real or not because who the f knows.

I also did an OBE today, **** feels very real , detaching from my own body, watching myself in bed there. Everything I see around my is a perfect copy of reality. I am light as a feather and am soon floating out into the subconscious.. whatever it is.
Everything is pitch black. I hear the clicking sound of a door unlocking. I fly through the door rather than opening it because I'm quite lazy.
I meet a dark skinned girl dressed in white in a dark, misty flickerlight grey alleyway. She immediately says "I don't like your hair". I say "It doesn't matter" and pull up her skirt, she says "My sister is at home waiting for me". "Just for a little while" I say. -"OK". I discover a platinum white silk panty covering a decent behind. I'm about to mount but then wake up in the real world with a massive boner. Bad beat. Extremely vivid and lol tho, gonna do more of these but it is really freaky

Conclusion: Mind and brain are weird things that sometimes perceive what they (do not) want

I'm pretty sure the common "watch/clock stopped at the moment of death" is a consequence of mechanical devices. You're probably not going to think of winding your clock or watch when you're in the process of dying and since the average mechanical watch will only run for ~40 hours on a full wind, the time it stops will often be very close to the time a person dies.

Junior Year of High School, East Tennessee, 1998:

A friend and I are walking through a patch of woods in which we've observed bizarre occurrences before, which I can get into if necessary. The woods are sort of a shortcut between our houses that we routinely take when it's not Summer time, because the woods suck in the summer down south. They are overgrown, thorny, and host to a swarm of mosquitoes and flies (any time of day/ night). It just sucks to hike around in the humidity in general.

But never mind all that. This is winter time and it's damn chilly. I'd say it's about 1am or so (we had trusting parents). After about a 15 minute hike, we trudge down a familiar hillside, past an old, decayed, mossy, stone house that lies in a ravine. On rare occasions it is used for a shelter by a man we presume to be homeless and harmless. But, harmless or not, this is not something we choose to investigate in the dead of night.

Upon passing the abandoned house, we hear a low murmur in a deeper patch of trees beyond the ravine. We cautiously walk closer, trying not to make too much noise, walking upon a forest bed that is crisp from the cold. This is when we notice that someone is shining a flashlight. We stand in a thicket, spying on whoever might be out there, and try to figure out a way to avoid confrontation. It turns out that there are about 8 to 9 people in freakin' robes and they are definitely chanting! Wtf? This is before the first Harry Potter movie, mind you.

At length, we make an attempt at sneaking around this odd lot. Trust me, I'm terrified at this point and my heart is beating a mile a minute. As we start to move again, one of them seems to have heard us, because all of a sudden the flashlight is pointed in our direction and next thing we know, they are running toward us. We take off like greased lightning in the direction of my house which is maybe two miles away. After running for several minutes, we see no sign of the erratic light from the flashlight and the woods are again quiet. We stop to catch our breath and listen quietly for any sign of danger. It seems safe to proceed home.

However as soon as we start walking, and this where the real terror strikes, there is a thunderous crashing noise descending in our direction from the hills behind us. I mean, this **** is ******* loud! It sounds like all the trees behind us are snapping in half. We run our asses off, without regard for clear trails or going in the right direction. We end up in some nasty patches of woods and we're getting pretty torn up. There are a lot of hills and up and downs, so we're pretty much falling from one tree to another on the steep downhill parts and leaping from one foothold to another (while grabbing the closest tree limb for leverage) on the steep uphill parts. This whole time we can hear the crazy booming sound behind us. We do, however, seem to be putting some distance between us and the noise.

After about twenty minutes of falling through the woods, we finally hit a road by some podunk apartment complex. We decide to sit on the apartment steps, watching and listening to the wall of woods from which we ran. The noise still seems to be approaching and I'm ready, at this point, to knock on a stranger's door if need be. But, before whatever-it-is gets too close or loud, it abruptly stops and, aside from the hum of a lone street light, the night is dead quiet again.

After sitting there, freaking out for fifteen minutes or so, we are ready to move on. But once again, we hear something. This time there is a low growl, but not the kind of growl a dog would make. It is a horribly deep and broken sound. There is definitely something, not likely canine, at the the edge of the woods. It does not come close enough for us to discern what it is. It starts moving rapidly through the brush and we can see leaves shaking. The snarling gets louder and more agitated. Whatever is moving there has to be of decent size as it is snapping branches and limbs. It's not earth-shaking loud like the tree smashing noise mentioned previously, but it is making quite a ruckus as it crashes back and forth rapidly along the wooded edge. It's like it wants to get at us, but refuses to step out into the light and make itself known.

The noise eventually stops for good. After another 20 minutes of staring at the quiet woods, I start trying crazy-hard to convince my friend to investigate. He's a barbarian of sorts, with a stagger that suggests a large, uneven, skeletal structure. He used to get bullied early on in high school, until bullies began to recognize the effortlessness with which he could destroy them. So, I thought he was an indestructible sort of brute. This is why I didn't think it made me a bad friend when I encouraged him to charge headfirst into the woods and challenge whatever awaited him to a duel. But whatever or whomever chased us through the woods that night had wrecked his nerves as well as mine.

There's part of me that has always wished I had the bravado to recklessly investigate what it was that we were running from, but who knows what was in there. I'm happy to be alive. We eventually did get to my house, but not before the night took another crazy turn. But that's another story and one which has nothing to do with the supernatural.

My father and uncle experienced something pretty bizarre while visiting my grandmother in Mexico a few years back. They were having breakfast at around 6 am when all of a sudden the china cabinet starts to violently shake and rock side to side (legs off the floor) while everything else in the room stood still. Needless to say they both hauled ass into the patio where my uncle, a huge pussy, nearly passed out. I don't recall what happened after my grandma woke up but I do remember my uncle refusing to step into the kitchen or be left alone for the remainder of his trip.

The clock was battery operated. I'm not saying my grandmother has power over battery operated devices, its just "weird stuff that I can't explain."

It would make a lot more sense if it was a winding clock, but this was a hang on the wall gimmick clock.

I'm sure that there are billions of clocks in the world and probably every few moments one of them stops without anyone giving it a second thought. Occasionally somewhere in the world a clock is bound to stop at the same time when it's owner dies. What's weird about it?

It's like the people who go to see a fortune teller. They only remember the things that the fortune teller got right (taking them as a proof of her ability), forgetting all the things that she got wrong. That's called a confirmation bias. They don't consider the saying that "even a broken clock is right twice a day."

If you believe in such things, you might want to watch Derren Brown's The System - "a Channel 4 special in which Brown shared his "100 percent guaranteed" method for winning on the horses".

I used to sneak in to peoples' houses during the summers in high school and move **** around when people weren't home but never steal anything. I never knew who the people were so never got confirmation, but I'm sure they came home scared and blamed it on the Indian ritual sacrifice grounds they built their house on.

"My grandfather died a few years back and it really tore up our whole family. We left the house for his wake and came back several hours later. When we walked into the living room, we noticed a picture of him had been turned upside down. This was crazy because nobody else was in the house at the time and nobody would have dared to turn a picture of pappy upside down.

I went and showed my mom the picture and a frozen look of fear paralyzed her face. She sat in silence for about 15 seconds while staring at this upside down picture of my Grandpa. She was dead silent until she spoke up and said, "I never told you this, but your Grandpa used to LOVE doing headstands when he was younger. It was his favorite thing to do. He loved being upside down and looking at his family, particularly me."

I'm not one to believe in all of that ghostly hooplah. Seriously, I'm a huge skeptic, but that one really creeps me out."

1) Steal their family photo.
2) Photoshop their dead relative off/onto the picture.
3) Replace the old picture with the 'shopped photo.
4) ???
5) Profit.

But this particular coincidence includes the clock coming back to life only for the duration of the funeral/wake.

Could be explained as someone who didn't listen to my mom touched the clock prior to going to the funeral, allowing the not-completely depleted batteries to come back to life for a few hours. Still a big coincidence for the clock to stop-start-stop at significant intervals days apart.
