Obviously I've heard of them. Do they supply the info? If so, why not just say that?

So you're the first militant vegan butthole that has heard of the militant PETA organization but never took even so much as a cursory look at the site? Gtfo.

Why not? They are an extremist group who happen to be vegan. It seems like a perfect fit for you. Hell, with some of your nutball wackjob ideologies, you could find your way to board member in short order and bring in a salary.

Ha. From what little I know of PETA, many of their ideologies aren't inline with my own

Aw, now don't discredit yourself. PETA has poured paint on celebrities' $50K fur coats and other cray cray ****. You gotta go get you some of that. Make a difference in the world, if even only one mink coat at a time.

Never said I disagreed with the defacing of fur coats, but PETA has other issues

Life cereal is vegan. So is granola you make yourself and homemade oatmeal, unless you add non-vegan stuff. So are these cereals http://www.peta.org/living/food/breakfast/

The bike tires you like aren't vegan? Who cares, you like them.

Your favorite restaurant isn't vegan? Who cares, you like it.

You're worse than everyone else in this thread. Spouting all this stuff while you're not even willing to make any sacrifices. Shameful.
Its obviously not that simple

What a lot of people miss is...he was not talking about only humans. He meant all animals, and that is why Jesus was a vegetarian.

Obviously this kind of thing (among other things he was teaching) couldn't be allowed by the powers that be, so they killed him for it.

Whatever else he was, I honesty don't know, but I've read the bible, and there is not one instance in it of Jesus consuming meat. Not one. Yes, he multiplied loaves and fishes to feed starving people, but he did not eat the fishes himself.

That's not to say the modern day church isn't incredibly corrupted, but his message remains the same, no matter how corrupted it gets.

The easiest way to stop eating meat is to stop and think for a moment about Jimmy Hoffa. Why Jimmy Hoffa? The legend goes he was killed by the mob and buried under giants stadium. Of course, thats not the truth. The truth is, he and whoever else was killed by the mob was eaten by somebody. Possibly even you.

See, the easiest way to dispose of a body, especially back in those days when forensics didn't really exist, is to simply put it through the ole meat grinder. A vast majority of the people that disappeared in this world over the past century were fed to a meat grinder. And let's think here, where was the center of the meat packing industry? Chicago. And who controlled Chicago and to some extent still does? Organized crime.

If you eat any type of meat, you are literally a cannibal. Sorry to be the one to break it to you. Unless you've stuck to grass-fed organic-farmed beef your entire life, you've eaten at least a part of a person before.
This might be the greatest post I've ever seen on 2+2. Definitely top 25.

You must be the worlds worst researcher, because if you google "list of vegan cereals" there are many hits on the 1st page that lead directly to lists of vegan cereals.

(2nd hit is the PETA vegan foods guide)

Just a sidenote I recently found out - Bill Maher is on the board of PETA.

I feel I need to clarify a statement made earlier in this thread

Do I feel that everyone who eats meat, eggs and dairy is as morally reprehensible as a rapist or murderer? No, of course not...

...However, I do feel the rape and murder of a pig, chicken, or cow is as reprehensible as the rape of a human.

I understand the disconnect between eating these products and being oblivious to the fact that what you're eating was a sentient being who valued their life just as much as you did. After all, I was a part of this culture for the first 25 years of my life

Due to the speciesism that permeates our society, ordinarily kind, compassionate people view animals as commodities who are here solely for our food and entertainment.

Some species just suck and are rightfully discriminated against. They also fail to pay taxes.
