Is that the McCormick Freedom Museum with the hanging steel plates? Did you like that sculpture?
Yeah, I think that's it. The sculpture was interesting.

omnomnom,

nice tr. glad you had fun and ate some tasty food. sad i missed out on this snow thing, which looks pretty cool.

everyone keeps telling me to go try out the lao restaurants, so i guess i should give them a try, the general's chicken looks very nice.

giordanos isn't my choice, but whatever, that's how it works.

aside from that there's a lot of stupid in this thread from stupid people, but that too is to be expected.

Great trip report.

It sounds like your trip ended up nicely. I, like others in this thread, am astounded by the size of your club quarters room. They're usually like closets, but great location for the price (and you aren't visiting to sit in your room).

Those snow sculptures are impressive, wished I would have had a chance to see them. Burger looks great too.

But yeah, glad your trip went well, thanks for sharing. My biggest recommendation would be to come back in the summer and hit up some of the neighborhood festivals that are everywhere in the summer.

wow, Chicago is an awesome city; it's hard for me to figure out why I love it so much, it's flat, the lake is dirty, and the weather does suck (compared to northern California where I live now). I just always have an awesome time when I'm there, Chicago people rock.

Nice camera-phone pictures BTW, and nice TR.

Chicago italian beef will soon be available in Phoenix, and allegedly, in other US cities within a couple years:

IMO it's because there are tons of "big city" things to do but with Midwestern people. People seriously underappreciate nice, warm people. They can make just about any experience significantly better. That's my deep thought for the day.
