For the third time in three months, a declassified Defense Department video shows U.S. Navy F-18 fighters seemingly encountering UFOs.
“Oh my gosh, dude,” said one pilot in the video of their F/A-18 Super Hornet military jet’s 2015 encounter with the unusual object along the East Coast. The oval-shaped aircraft zipped with befuddling speed.
“Wow! What is that, man?” said another. “Look at that flying!”
The 35-second video, released by the privately owned media and scientific research company To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science, is the latest to suggest the existence of hovering egg-shaped vessels since the Pentagon in December publicly acknowledged a program dedicated to the study of unidentified flying objects. While the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program ran from 2007 to 2012, those familiar with it say efforts are still made to further learn about these objects.
...
One of the videos released in December is of former U.S. Navy pilot Cmdr. David Fravor’s 2004 encounter with a flying object about the size of his plane moving at a rapid pace, unlike anything else he’d seen in the air. He told The Post’s Eli Rosenberg that he has not forgotten the incident. As Rosenberg reported:
An order came in for [Fravor] to suspend the exercise and do some “real-world tasking,” about 60 miles west of their location, Fravor said. He said he was told by the command that there were some unidentified flying objects descending from 80,000 feet to 20,000 feet and disappearing; he said officials told him they had been tracking a couple dozen of these objects for a few weeks.
When they arrived closer to the point, they saw the object, flying around a patch of white water in the ocean below.
“A white Tic Tac, about the same size as a Hornet, 40 feet long with no wings,” Fravor described. “Just hanging close to the water.”
The object created no rotor wash — the visible air turbulence left by the blades of a helicopter — he said, and began to mirror the pilots as they pursued it, before it vanished.
“As I get closer, as my nose is starting to pull back up, it accelerates and it’s gone,” he said. “Faster than I’d ever seen anything in my life. We turn around, say let’s go see what’s in the water and there’s nothing. Just blue water.”
To this day, 13 years later, Fravor is certain about one thing: That the object is “something not from the Earth,” he said.
Quote:
“It accelerated like nothing I’ve ever seen,” Commander David Fravor told the Times of what he thought was a flying object in the sky. Some of what they saw has been published in a video that the Pentagon’s UFO search division studied for research, or, whatever.
But an astronomer tells Inverse what the airman more likely saw that night:
“Typically, the explanation is that the thing they are looking at is much closer or much farther than they thought, or is a reflection of some kind,” Jonathan McDowell, astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, tells Inverse.
McDowell makes clear that he hasn’t reviewed the case, though, but says this is what many “UFO sightings” turn out to be. Just a mere reflection.
Jonathan McDowell: History says the "UFO" two Navy airman saw was probably a mere reflection of something else.
It’d also help experts understand what happened if the Pentagon declassified more information about the AATIP, or Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). The few details made public obviously don’t reveal any aliens. But what’s arguably more disturbing is they show how former Democratic Senator from Nevada Harry Reid was able to get $22 million in taxpayer money to give to his billionaire friend Robert Bigelow — a true believer in aliens — and his aerospace company. The money was for “research,” which included interviewing people who claimed to have had encounters with extraterrestrial objects.
For context, Bigelow has publicly claimed that aliens have visited us, because, sure.
“Internal reviews of classified data may not have the right mix of people for this,” McDowell explains. “Better to open all the data and let skeptics bash away.”
I posted the link. Pretty tricky to click on it, huh? Try again. I think you can figure it out. If you’re referring to the fact it says “google” at the beginning, I can’t help that. I copy and pasted the url and that’s how the link looks. Forgive me if that’s unacceptable to you but the link works.
Great new little documentary on the 2004 Nimitz incident with several of the guys involved at the time. A lot of very good new stuff in it (there were more than one object, went from 30k feet to water level in under 1 sec, even went underwater at 500kns etc.). One of the best info was that the military has far better footage than the IR **** that was released, there's high res footage in TV mode for 10 min where you can clearly see the object and its movement but obviously that's not coming out anytime soon. Doesn't sound like chinese drones to me but what do I know? Ayyyy lmao.
Why not release all footage? Why just the IR ? Why release anything at all in the first place if you're not gonna do it right? Would the real footage be too much, too soon, too scary? Mind you this is the first time the US military has released anything of this sort in its entire history, so baby steps, I guess. Many militaries have done this for decades and have even had huge investigations where the official conclusion was the phenomenon is likely not of this earth ( as posted earlier itt). Imagine a NASA director or a 4 star US general saying ''oh yea, aliens is quite likely'' while in office. Why are americans so reactionary and stuck up about these things? Then again, it's 2019 and the US still doesn't have a single ''openly atheist'' congress member. Believing in a skyfather invented thousands of years ago is obligatory but accepting there is a good chance something else is visiting us is career suicide... Ayyy lmao indeed. Just a chinese drone, bro.

Citation (other than this doc) needed on the bolded portions.
Why is "DOCUMENTARY" written in the same font as a classified stamp?
Stating the obvious, it's not a documentary, it's fictional entertainment promoted by ex-Navy personnel trying to make a buck. Nothing actually happened. The ship radar threw up false traces for reasons that are not analysed (but have probably been identified by radar experts), the airborne radars didn't confirm the traces, whales make wakes on the surface of the sea (specially in those parts) and small white objects that 'follow the fighter's turn rate' are reflections in the cockpit canopy. Also, IR targeting pods sometimes get things stuck on their lenses. That's about it, really. The stories about Men In Black seizing the mission recordings are obvious lies, told for a profit motive.

This x1000.
As much as I would absolutely love for any of this to have some truth to it, some common sense and quick googling shows that this is just a bunch of nonsense.
Rogan’s biggest leak is that he is so damn gullible, whether it’s Lazar or that blatantly obvious sociopath ex-con who was crying on his pod or Aubrey Marcus, he just isn’t perceptive enough to sift thru the bullsh*t he comes across

The Rogan podcast where he interviews Mel Gibson and this shady doctor who runs a stem cell clinic in south america was just over the top. It was a 2 hour infomercial, and the doctor was claiming a miracle cure for everything from shoulder pain to cancer to autism to sterility to spinal injuries.
Its all fun and games until you are actually around an unusual piece of equipment.. then its not so funny and you want out of there.
You can be the biggest space / sci fi, open minded person, a big strong fearless trained professional.
All of that goes out of the window and you want your family, to be away from the situation, that was my experience.
These spots DO come up, you shouldn't laugh about it or put forward skeptical crap when they themselves are telling you, those people that have said no about the topic, are now saying, yes actually its true and we are working on it and need support.
Younger generation has never had more chance to discuss, its not the older generation, or even the current generation, its going to be the children and youngsters to come that have to really get handle on this.
I've given a pretty concise briefing on this topic to some heads of European funds,
This is just one element of life, Earth is not the centre of the universe.
Think logically about what you are living on and where it is, and how many more of same type is there in the Universe.
So you post that (skept)14 mins after my posts yet the discussion there is a little under 2 hours long, empty your cup....
Mankind has witnessed seen and been exposed to extremely high strange objects since the earliest form of record keeping up to and including been taken and returned, some times not.
You get people like Chris Mellon, Luis Elizondo, Steve Justice talking to you honestly that you need to catch up, you better pay some attention.
One problem is company's like Boeing and Lockheed are excluded from the investment universe, its due to weapons production, that hinderance or lack of investment capability needs to change.
There is a lot of money that needs to be spent in this area obviously, but it needs to be accessible in the same way its possible for a person company group or fund to invest in Apple.
Out there are going to be both friends and foes... that ratio... those challenges, the problem of safe progression expansion of a (human) species is and should be generational,
This solar system is human, ability to mind ones own Business hopefully is universal, if its not it needs to be enforceable as the situation(s) arise, life is a struggle regardless, **** will always happen.
Alarm wake up call definitely went off on this and rightly so , its about time.
Joe Rogan and his calculation to entertain all variety of guest -- while it's proven a lucrative business model for him personally -- may be one of the more damaging phenomena in recent times. Along with other 'alternative media' that routinely normalize absurd voices, perspectives and 'ideas.'
The President of the United States is peddling in this currency now, whether Trump believes it or not, he knows it plays to an audience of bought-in idiots.
Some right-wing clown Senator on Meet the Press just this morning parroting Deep State horsesh*t to deflect from impeachment.
