someone else could have lifted the cash to before she got to the table.

fwiw if stiffing I would put a line through the tip line and leave a reason on the bottom. if cash I would write cash on the tip line. I think leaving it blank is a horrible idea.

When she posted that picture, she said something along the lines of "**** this night!." She didn't respond or comment again in the some 100 comments and has since deleted that status from her Facebook. I guess the comments were becoming a train wreck. Don't blame her.

I think it's fair to assume by her "**** this night!" status with said picture of the no tip receipt that she was stiffed and stiffed hard. But that's like, my opinion man.
Wow, it's a good thing you saved a copy of that picture before she deleted it! I always do that with all of the pictures my FB friends post, just in case.

Def this.

Sounds like bs to me, though I've never served. Dude probably left two Franklins and she's starting controversial bs about the plight of a server at his expense since he didn't write cash on the tip line.

After a year of busting my ass as a server, I switched to a delivery job. It's the easiest money ever. I work for a service that delivers for spots that don't deliver for themselves. It pays $5 per delivery plus all the tips (no tipsharing). Additionally, there's no side work. All I have to do is pick up orders and drop them off. In a typical day as a server, I averaged around $60. Yesterday, I made $150 in tips plus the $5 per order. And it was not stressful at all. Half the time I was sitting around in my apartment waiting for my next call. Meanwhile, on a busy night, serving is one of the most stressful experiences imaginable.

Basically, if you're trying to work a job while you're in school or you have no qualifications, serving sucks ass unless you manage to get hired at a super high end joint. I'm going to tip even more now at restaurants

It's not "I want to know what tipping is" outside the US. Most of us do it even if the fractions change.

I'm with El D. Cash unmentioned or really really bad service (with their manager dragged in to resolve) most likely. Someone stiffing on a 1k bill: they must exist, but balance of probability...

chances that she got a cash tip and is lying about not getting tipped >>>> chances she got stiffed doing a good job

I actually know almost no one who has ever stiffed in their life. I doubt many people do this at all. The reason someone like you is convinced that there is some phalanx of stiffs out there is because the only tipping stories you ever hear are negative ones.

About 20 orders and 6 hours, but much of the 6 hours was not work. I'm on call for deliveries right now, but I can cherry pick and only take the big orders that are going to result in big tips. Afaict there's no real penalty for doing that. I definitely ran hot yesterday, but I'm convinced I'm going to make tons more than I did serving for a tenth of the work. The way the system works is there's a $7 flat fee for all deliveries, of that almost $5 goes to me. Then tips are all mine as well. I pay a minute $1 a week to rent a delivery bag, uniform, and cab topper.

It's a really cushy gig. They said when they hired me that drivers averaged more than $1k a week, but I didn't really believe that at the time. It seems pessimistic now. I pay for the gas and it's my car. Idk how much that's going to cut in yet, but the main point is it's a ****load better than serving

wu,

So yesterday you made $250 in 6 hours of deliveries? That's pretty hot. Sounds like this should provide you plenty of cash to support nonstop tinder and OKC action!

How can 20 orders over 6 hours be a lot of sitting around? Don't you have to pick up the food from the restaurant and then deliver it?

Small area last night. I was able to deliver tons of orders at once. Tonight I've been all over the place on 8 deliveries and only made $25 in tips. Still better than serving by a wide margin

Minus gas, and wear and tear on his vehicle. Not to mention this was probably an above average night.
