Right. So if someone does come along, they have a 1/10000 shot of being able to take your money out. I'd rather wait and close the screen out.

Getting into an elevator and hearing easy listening instrumental versions of B on Jovi and U2 playing.

Muzak was helpful at getting people into elevators back in the day.

I thought I was the only one who's paranoid about this. I always stay at the ATM until it's back at the "insert card" screen.

People who take long standing at ATM certainly do piss me off.

I assume this is hyperbole but to mitigate your fear; unless your account has a low balance that's not possible. Cards have pre-set daily atm withdrawal limits that are usually pretty low unless you request to have it raised by your bank.

When I check out at the grocery store or at a convenience store. I swipe my card and sometimes it says :Cash back? At other places it wants me to confirm the total first then asks me if I want cash back.

Can we have a little uniformity here?

Don't they do the "would you like another transaction" thing when they still have your card?

If you have your card. You're safe.

However. Local banks here do a "would you like to donate 10 cents to x charity " after people walk away. I always click yes for them. Muahahaha

Also, Mets fans who whine about being a distant 2nd fiddle to the Yankees.

But Yankees fans annoy me more than anything.

Went to a new doctors office today and had to fill out the info forms.

It asked for age and also asked for birthday(they were side by side too). tilted me even though the unnecessary one(age) takes like .5 seconds to fill out.

I hate how you always have to write on that clipboard which makes your handwriting look like ****. Then i mess up have cross-outs and running thru the tiny ass boxes. The office must think im a ****ing idiot.

Christ, Custer, we're more alike than you know. Out of sheer spite, I simply refused to write in my age on one of the doctor forms you're talking about. The idiot nurse/receptionist insisted that I do so, and I got stubborn about it. I finally told her: "My birthday is coming up in three weeks, and I really wouldn't want your form to have a clear mistake on it three weeks down the road." The look of confusion on her face was priceless. There are often more redundancies than just this one on the form, and all of them tilt me pretty badly.

Also: people that say "ATM machine."

People who use their birthday as the passcode to their smartphone. Then when I explain that might not be such a great idea when you are auto-logged in to email, facebook and a hundred other things, tell me not to worry so much and that I'm being overly paranoid.

Related: Had a friend whose email got hacked into, she was really freaked out 'because no one else knows my password and it's a really strong password, it's not like someone could have guessed it.'

'Are you sure? It wasn't like your sister's name or your dog's name or the road you grew up on or something like that, that someone could figure out?'

'No!'

'Well what was it?'

'qwerty123'

'...'

Kafja,

Haha, that's brilliant. Reminds me of the old 'it used to be password, but now they make you put a number.'

Ummm, is that a combination that is notably together? I would never think to guess that as someone's password.

For the record I'm completely aware that's infinitely less random than erqwyt231.

It's a horrible password that I'd say any hacker will have in his dictionary.

Edit: top 6290 most used password apparently: https://howsecureismypassword.net

Just saw a minivan with a diamond the yellow sign that said, "Baby on Board." So redundant.

I had a George Carlin flashback.

People over the age of 18 who open a wrapped straw by banging it on table instead of peeling.

I could probably count on one hand the number of times over peeled rather than banged. And I frequently need to unwrap straws.

Step into Borgata & co (next to bread and butter) and you will see what I mean. You are right. It's not part of the tri state. This goes on in tourist shops and a lot of places all over the city.

The term "tri-state area", because I never know what convergence of states people are talking about.
