Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid came on last night. Always worth a few minutes. In the ratings info before it started, it listed (IIRC):

V - Violence
OC - OUTDATED CULTURAL CONTENT
L - Language

Pissed me off that they put the middle one in all caps. People are being shot to death in this movie, and that is somehow less important to warn the viewer of than whatever references they might've made?

Not really sure what the content was. It's (by today's standards) a pretty tame movie, violence not graphic, mild swearing. They were turn-of-the-last-century cutthroat thieves. If the ratings people are trying to make the message that "Hey, these guys aren't really woke characters," well, no ****.

i randomly saw netflix or my local on-demand cable movie options, cant remember which, but Gone With The Wind was showing. Obviously a legendary movie and is well known.

The description of the movie started, and i ****ing **** you not, with "This racist movie...."

I mean it was shot in the 1930's and the movie's premise took place during slavery time. They dont even say ****** once.

People who don't have the capacity to understand that ratings and content warnings are primarily for people who have children

Two things:
First,
The channel that is airing the movie has nothing to do with the company or person that inputs the program information. They are completely separate entities. These type of gigs are farmed out to all kinds of companies and freelancers. This is why the program information on DirecTV will be different than DishTV, or local guide, etc.

Second,
Gone With The Wind is historically seen as racist by historians of african-americans in cinema. Yes, the content focuses on the Civil War, but that's not the key issue. The film itself played a major role in defining onscreen stereotypes for black characters. So much so, that the name of the character "Mammy" is used to define one of the key stereotypes of exploitative roles that black actors were relegated to during that time.

When there's a really easy sports question on Jeopardy and all three of the nerds just stand there in silence.
