Yeah, because a lot of poors live in cities where airbnb is really popular and driving up the price of real estate. This should come as no surprise to anyone with a functioning brain because, newsflash, as supply decreases prices rise, but maybe you missed that day of school.

A 1% increase in Airbnb listings leads to a 0.018% increase in rents and a 0.026% increase in house prices. This effect is greater in areas with absentee landlords vs people just renting out their place when they go away, and those absentee landlords would have been renting to long-term tenants before Airbnb. Where there is less rental housing supply, housing costs increase.
