It's a LOLUK thing. And it shouldn't piss me off that I fat-fingered "alphabed" but it does, so add that to the thread.

I’m from Canada and I’m here to defend “zed”. Zee makes me think of a child belting out the alphabet and holding the Zeeeee too long.

Zed makes you sound like a respectable adult.

It used to bother me when people pronounced it Zeh-brah instead of Zee-Brah. Then I realized it is actually better.

Problem with ZED is that it throws off the rhyming scheme. Also, what do Canadians think La-ZED-boy chair means?

Was waiting for an elevator at the lowest level of a mid-rise building (high-rise in DC -- 14 floors). At almost the same time a second person walked into the elevator bank area, two elevators opened simultaneously and the people on them emptied into the elevator bank area.

I walked toward one elevator and the other person who was waiting FOLLOWED ME into the same elevator. I of course looked at the guy like he had three heads and then exited the elevator to go to the empty one. I'm thinking it shouldn't piss me off that the other guy did a stupid thing because he likely was in thoughtless sheeple mode as opposed to willful obnoxiousness mode, but it bothered me anyway.

Pro move would have been to fart before you left his elevator.
