Idiot stoners who think being an idiot stoner makes them “cool” so they put things like “420” or “kush” in their usernames or wherever else they think others will see it and somehow admire them for their idiocy. They also think stoner movies are hilarious because they mention weed and that’s really funny to them. You do get me! Some things are really universal. And this men/women interaction is one of this universal things.

I am one of those, who have Simpsons in a cultural black hole. I remember living in a student accommodation. We had a living room and a TV for 12 people. Simpsons were running at 5 PM and some other junk I preferred to see was running at the same time on a different channel. And few times I came 15 min earlier to the living room to snatch the "power" aka remote. It was very funny for me to annoy the crap out of 7 or 8 guys, who showed up after me and wanted to see the Simpsons.

I know that doesn't paint me in a nice color, but I had somehow fun. Still wonder why actually exactly. The picture of 8 guys and me sitting and watching some stuuuuuuuupid soap and them just emanating this hope that I will release the power makes me so laugh.

Update on the clingy guy. I told him very directly along the lines that Fabian suggested, that we are not a good fit and I don't want neither date him no be friends with him. The reaction is basically what VR wrote in one. I can't completely avoid him. He works in mechanic shop that does a lot of work for my lab. He crosses every time I see him boundaries: tries to touch me, asks me if I changed my mind and basically goes on my nerves in every possible way.

I went to see Jason Isbell in Birmingham at the Alabama Theater. It seats 2500 people. 2 guys in the whole place decide they're going to stand for the whole show, and I happen to get seated behind them.

I get it if you're at some high-energy young person show, but when your response to the band signing "I sobered up/I swore off that stuff/Forever this time" is to drain the pint of cheap whiskey you snuck into the concert then scream "**** yeah!" maybe you should find another show.

Also to the people sitting behind me asking me to make them sit down. "I'll back you up if you get in a fight." Like he's going to respond to reason, apologize and sit down.

I don't buy this at all, I think it's a cultural thing. Very few of my male acquaintances/friends/etc would act like this guy. My suggestion is to be more clear and tell him to knock it the **** off. If he's not relenting, you can't be relenting either. You shouldn't have to put up with ******* behavior like that, and I think you should be more clear with him that it's not welcome.

I think you know what I mean. As a quick example, next time the dude goes to touch her, instead of ignoring it and getting away from there, tell him that it's making her uncomfortable and to stop touching her. Something like that.
