Fwiw I did a "day in the life of" of the housekeeping department when I worked in casinos, that **** was grueling. At least at a big corp where they track productivity; iirc our room cleaners had to cover like fourteen rooms in an eight hour shift. Tons of bending and lifting. At least for my fat, desk job having self I came away with an appreciation for what I had believed was an easy job.

It's just better.

It's especially nice for someone like me with a wildly rotating schedule.

We use military time at my job. What's infuriating is whenever we need to write the time down, there is also a spot where we have to circle either AM or PM.

I also use military time (or a 24hr clock), what I hate is when people add "hours" at the end.

Ex. "1600hrs" rather than "1600"

When people use "foot" when it should be "feet." This is extremely common. I was just listening to the Adam Carolla podcast and heard an example of this. They were discussing the recent extension of goal posts in the NFL, which reduces the number of times a field goal passes above the posts necessitating a judgment call on whether it was good or not.

Adam: "The missed extra point fell under the Carolla rule because it hit somewhere within the last six foot of the upright."

Feet dammit!

Maybe part of the Carolla rule is to express length measurements in the singular.

That was the point. We would also accept polar vortex - aka cold front.

Yeah - ramen is best coming out of the bars around 2am. 7pm is ok but it's not even prime ramen time. And most likely there are like 7 good ramen places around there with no lines. But they're not *the* ramen place. Hipster foodies don't feel validated unless they have to wait in line.

So do you know what the polar vortex is or not? Or are people who say that the polar vortex is a cold front piss you off?

It pisses me off that we need to make up fancy new terms when the existing terms were fine.

You should be pissed at the ****ty sensationalist media latching on to a term, that has been around for hundreds of years, and constantly misusing it.

Do you also get mad at someone driving a 4 door car with nobody in the back seat?

Hint: people from Mexico are not "Spanish". Also the people who are from Spain are only a small % of the people in the world who speak Spanish.
Something in there is confusing you, but now I can't even tell what, and that kinda pisses me off.
