I go to the ATM like once per year. I use cash for basically nothing and winning at poker provides me with more than enough.

Trip to the bank to go to the ATM!? Are you living in 1970 or some third world village?

New year wishes via Facebook posts. If they say happy New "Years" I'm assuming that should piss me off or no?

I guess you have Uber deliver your cash or something?

Suz,

I live in modern America where we have ATMs on virtually every block and in/around all sorts of non-bank establishments!

And they cost $3.50 or whatever as opposed to BofA. Getting cash back at the grocery store costs nothing and saves an otherwise unnecessary trip.

So just to be clear - if you were buying groceries and needed cash - you would still walk next door to a liquor store and pay $3-4 to use their atm?

Keep in mind I live in LA. It's laid out a little different than SF.

cash back at the grocery store seems incredibly convenient given you are already there

Or just switch to a bank that credits back those fees

I'd have to set up online bill pay all over again and find some other way to transfer $$ to my dad. All for an advantage I'm not really seeing. I go to the grocery store at least once a week, and I need cash less than that.

I don't use lolcash, but if I did need it I'd rather take up stripping than ask for cash back at the grocery store.

You don't even have to ask - just push a button and it comes to you as if by magic.

Back to the OP - when I google "scanners gif" and the first 3 entries are static images. Really google? You think that's what I'm looking for?

Not understanding the cash back haters. It's not like anyone is advocating a separate grocery store run for cash. But if you're already there getting cash adds like a second and a half to the transaction. This is a substantial improvement over any ATM plan no matter how convenient.

My post was an exaggeration to illustrate my contempt for the notion that cash back is negative.

That is either three levels too deep or two levels too shallow for me.

I think it was dumb, just for a different reason than you thought.

I have started refusing to take the change-receipt-cash origami from cashiers. I take my hand away and just say, "I don't need that receipt, thanks", or, "Can you put the receipt in the bag?" They stop and have to pull apart the origami themselves, hopefully getting an education on how annoying that is.

I feel like I'm really good at catching things like that, and this one missed.
