Anyways, it was decent, my biggest disappointment was really in how little I hated the bad guys. They just didn't seem particularly villainous to me.
Darth Vader is villainous as hell, but you don't hate him. (but you really really really blew it by not seeing this for the first time when you were 9.)

Loved the pencil fighting on tosh.0 - took me back to junior high school.

27 earning that big mod paycheck by locking two crap threads and temp-banning one crap poster (Rob.in A.grees). Well done.

And naming the boy Shirtco is clearly the way to go. The men's torso-covering world domination scheme starts here.

jesus, i remember thinking coleco-vision baseball was awesome.

Somebody needs to write a game so I can play that Mattel football on my laptop.

Ask and ye shall receive. This is probably going to ruin my morning, thanks.

KPowers,

It's not too late to optimize your viewing order by watching them not in numerical nor release sequence (spoilers in the link): Machete order.

The order is 4, 5, 2, 3, then 6. I don't recommend reading the link until after watching if you truly don't know what happens in the movies, but others who have or haven't heard of the machete order can chime in with general yea or nay votes on it. It's got a lot of advantages, not least of which is avoiding Episode 1 entirely.

That GRRM story about writing in Wordstar 4.0 is whatever, but I will say, I used to enjoy typing on those old IBM keyboards where you could really hear/feel the springs.

All,

I'm making the General Tso's chicken from this article tonight for dinner. I've got the sauce done, and holy cow, it is great.

hell yes

the best way to watch them is the original 4, 5, 6. And just never watch 1, 2, 3.

If you are going to make yourself sit through 2 crappy movies (2 and 3) you might as well sit through 3 crappy movies and throw in 1 just so you can say youve seen them all. So watching them in release order makes the most sense (and if you dont watch the terrible re edited ones lucas puked out, you dont have the "who the **** is Hayden Christensen" thing like that link talks about.

If you wanna have uber nerdfest and just cant bear to have to watch number 1 ever again, but for some reason think 2 and 3 are worth sitting through (lol) then I guess its fine.

If you want a loud responsive keyboard, just buy a gaming keyboard, they all have mechanical switches
05-14-2014 , 05:27 PM
They're so expensive though. I wish they made cheap keyboards that make that amazing feeling clacky sound.

Hm. Something to consider. I'm definitely watching 5 next and yes, I really have no idea. The only thing I know is Luke, I am your father.

To break it up a bit I watched The Deer Hunter. Never heard of it, but it got mentioned in Entourage so I picked it up.

What a dumb, dumb movie. I don't know if the bar was just lower back then, or there is some serious meta **** I don't get, but even after reading some Deer Hunted explanations, yep, that movie just sucked. Jesus Christ was Meryl Streep hot back then. Like wow, most attractive woman ever?

I thought Raging Bull was equally boring/pointless/plotless so ******. Might give that one a second chance since I saw it when I was 13.

3 hours of The Deer Hunter though. What the hell. 53 minute wedding. lol.
05-14-2014 , 05:50 PM
If you really want a boring "must watch classic" watch 2001 a space odyssey. *puts gun to head, pulls trigger*

I hope you are being sarcastic about Streep?
05-14-2014 , 06:03 PM
Dude, Streep in Deer Hunter is off the charts hot. I'm not going to play the "9.3 not a 9.6" game but she was top-tier stuff.

Re 2001. lol. Again. My dad told me this was awesome and my stepmom said the same thing. Got the Blu-Ray, was pretty excited.

I liked the part where nothing happened for 25 ****ing minutes, and then the next 2 hours nothing also happened. Kubrick is truly my most-hated director/producer ever.

EDIT: Actually, one thing I didn't get in Deer: Walken stays in Vietnam, becomes a pro Russian Roulette player and gives all his money to Steve, but has absolutely no recollection of who Michael is? wtf?
05-14-2014 , 10:16 PM
Lol, if you can't handle 2001 and the Deer Hunter then you have no chance with the last 3 Star Wars films, which are in the running for the most boring and incomprehensible movies ever made.

ETA: On second thought, maybe that means you'll love them idk.

Coleco is an elite pongobaby name imo.
05-14-2014 , 10:44 PM
Oh I thought 27 was suggesting "Electronic Football"
05-14-2014 , 11:08 PM
we never got the weight of baby Coleco
05-14-2014 , 11:15 PM
Pretty sure he's still baking.
05-14-2014 , 11:16 PM
Yeah, only halfway done, please kill me.
