The A-Team Movie The A-Team Movie

This is one of those movies where the critics and general audience will have extremely differing opinions. Yahoo! users give the movie an A-, while the critics give it a C+. Also, the reviews on rottentomatoes.com are just brutal.

Forget about it. The movie was terrific! It's absolutely must-see for anyone who grew up watching the tv show. It exceeded all of my expectations. All the actors did justice to their characters. I daresay they improved upon them!

The movie also explains why BA is scared of flying and why we wears a mohawk.

I only wish the movie did not have Jessica Biel in it. Also, where was Colonel Decker?

haven't seen it but Decker was 2nd generation chaser.

For God's sake, save yourselves. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEE THIS MOVIE. It was terrible. Start to finish. I think there were a couple of chucklers, but that's about it.

Spoiler:
OH NOES! The Ay-rabs might engage in Quantitative Easing!

The genre of actions movies based on an 80s TV show about Vietnam War vets who escaped from prison to help people by blowing up lots of cars and stuff?

so in the movie, does the A-Team get trapped in a warehouse with tons of scrap metal and welding equipment?

As long as you like mindless action youll like the movie. I dont understand people that say this or similar movies are the worst ever. There are lots of movies made for different reasons. Sometimes red blooded american guys want to see ridiculous things and lots of stuff blow up. This is that movie and it did a fantastic job at it.

BTW stay after the credits.

This is really funny now that I've seen the movie. I didn't know "I pity the foo" was from a different television show with Mr.T so I was waiting the entire movie for him to say, "I pity the foo!"

Hmm...stay for the after credits + waiting for the entire movie to hear "I pity the fool" to be said...

Thanks for the spoiler.

BTW- I don't care, I'm not butthurt. I'm just busting your chops.

I don't know how that's a spoiler unless I'm two levels of stupid and he does actually say "I pity the foo." and I just missed it. According to google that's his catch phrase in another t.v. show so nobody's will expect him to say it in the movie unless they're really dumb like me... right?

You can't have an a-team movie without the guy with the white hair and cigar + mr t. You just can't.

I still don't understand why they couldn't just use Mr T. He is alive and seems to be in pretty good Shape/health.

Nothing a good makeup artist couldn't cover up.

Apparently I Pity the Fool was his catch phrase in Rocky 3. I always thought it was from the A-Team.

Yeah.

His real A-team phrase was, "Cut out all that Jibba Jabba!" from what I can recall.

If he didn't say this in the movie, I call bull****.

Ignore the reviews. If you liked the TV show you'll like the movie. Stay until the end of the credits. The spoilers within this post will spoil only a little tiny bit.

Quote:
One question: At any point in the film, does B.A. have to get on a plane, and do they discretely drug him? Perhaps with the old, "Fake slapping a mosquito and sticking him in the neck with a hypodermic needle?"
Spoiler:
The plot addresses in detail how it is B.A. developed his fear of flying and yes, thereafter familiar methods are used to get him on aircraft.

Also, does anybody die in the movie? Does anybody jump one of those dirt hills hidden by tumbleweeds with explosives hidden within it?
Spoiler:
Just as in the TV series, no one is shown to have died. (Think about it.) But there are no scenes in which the bad guys crawl out of the burning wreckage unhurt as in the TV series. The effects are spectacular, but there are no dirt hills with explosives in them.

So in the movie, does the A-Team get trapped in a warehouse with tons of scrap metal and welding equipment?
Spoiler:
Appropriate homage is paid to this trope, but it is not as formulaic as in the TV show.

My wife and I laughed out loud when we heard what the gimmick is. So hilarious.

Spoiler:
I think the Fed must have paid the producers the way the ONDCP pays people to make drug dealers the bad guys in TV shows and movies.

I saw this on Friday and liked it. I did leave before the credits finished, so what happened?

Also, the scene(s) after credits is the single most annoying thing about new movies. Either let me know there's more coming or play it as you scroll the credits FFS.

From what I have heard Mr. T was against the movie for a variety of reasons, (one being "excessive" violence). That is the reason why he is the only one of the three living originals to not make a cameo.

Spoiler:
New face walks into a room with 2 tanning beds and a guy gets out of one of the beds and he asks the guy a question. It pans around and the guy is Dirk Benedict who played face in the TV Show. Then it shows new Murdock getting electrocuted in a hospital and it pans to the 2 doctors and one of them is Dwight Schultz who played Murdock in the Show.

The ending credits stuff is annoying, I just stay to the end credits now for most movies. Its frustrating because its after all of the credits and it takes forever to get there. You'll only see it if you know about it or are weird and stay to the end of the credits.

The movie was OK. It had it's moments.

Don't understand why Jessica Biel was in the movie. If she's in it for eye candy, at least show her in a bikini or something. If she's not in it for eye candy then put a decent actress in the movie.

I probably would have liked the movie better if there was no show called The A-Team. But there was no Col. Decker, no crazy mayhem in the streets of LA, ect. Baghdad and Germany? Are you kidding me?

I mean the whole idea of the show was they were on the run from the military while helping citizens out. The military story of the show was a secondary part. Yea there were some episodes where it was 100% about the military, but usually not. If you are going to make the military the focus point of the movie, you have to have Col. Decker. It's like having the Dukes of Hazzard without Boss Hogg. It just doesn't make sense.

Honestly, the movie would have been better if it started off where it ended. Face getting the key would have been a great way to show them escape. Overall, I give it a C.

Col. Decker wasn't even in the first season of the TV show, and the TV show takes place 10+ years after the movie.

And the whole reason to make the movie is to show the events that led to the way they are in the show. And most of those events involve the military.

If they started the movie where it ended then it would basically just be a long expensive version of a TV show episode and that is not the reason to make a movie.
