So I made a lap around the store, and memorized the guy's ph# in front of mine and then used it when I checked out. I never need that card again.
You can just make one up. I usually go with (local area code)-555-1212. You can also generally do 867-5309, etc, 555-5555, etc.

I used to work as a caddy on a golf course, tipping is a huge part of the Job. Anything less than 40% is bad. Its not unusual for you to get 200% tip per bag

The rate is pretty low for caddies most places as tipping makes up most of the pay.

I have made as much as 1000% on a loop

So one day a group arrive in by Chopper and are offered their own caddies each which is not unusual, we normally like to take 2 bags to make the loop worth while but in this case you wont mind cos the tip expectation is so much bigger.

So the guy who's bag I have to lug around it turns out must be someones guest, he bummed my smokes all round, he was a brutal golfer talked down to me any given chance, his bag weighed like 40Kg (80lbs), he took the balls I found on the round from my caddy bib and put them in his own bag and to top it all off flat rates me at the end of it.

So €30 from golfer -€5 caddy master fee -€5 Lunch (golfer should buy caddy lunch) and take €5-10 for fuel as the course is about 30 miles away = As bad a day as possible

Ive probably caddied for about 1000 people and this arsehol stands out as being the stingiest mo fo of them all.

Looping is generally a pretty good gig but when it doesn't go well Its pretty much the worst days work possible as your depending on 1 or 2 golfers to make your daily bread and if they are stingy you take the hit.

I dont even need to start on South African golfers, Guaranteed Flat rate and 5hrs of putting up with a racist who is used to having a Black caddy who they treat like s**t. Introduction by name at the start of the round is usually just a formality as you will be referred to as 'Caddy' for the next 5 hrs.

end rant....

Forgot that there was a hole in that pocket (lol already stingy on my part for not buying a new ****ing pair of pants) and it fell right through. I said "oops", looked down, then just got in the car and started it up. My friend asked me what happened and I told him I dropped the dime on the ground. He proceeded to unbuckle his seatbelt, get out of the car, walk around to my side and pick up the dime. I calmly put the car in gear and drove home. 15 min later I had just polished off my 2nd beer and he walks in. I congratulate him on working for 40c an hour.
I have a friend just like that.

I love it when we're watching TV or something and I'll find 30 cents in my pocket and chuck it into the adjacent room. He'll look at me for a second, tell me that I'm a dick, then go hunting for it.

Overly stingy or reasonable?
Seems reasonable to me, but when I was in college, we'd wait at the end of the games, then walk up and down the aisles picking up all the plastic souvenir style cups left behind for our apartment. I think they also had pom poms that they gave out and we'd take them and made some crazy wigs out of them to wear to the game. Probably stingy.

Getting on to the movie/cinema argument a few pages back, It's perfectly fine for people to bring in food from other places. At least at the ones I go too. I worked there part time for a while and they stated pretty clearly that customers bringing in other food is fine as long as the smell isn't too pungent that it distracts others.

Standard. IMO the word stingy very rarely applies to students.

One of the groomsman was going and getting non-free hard(er) drinks (for free), and then giving them to his girlfriend, so she wouldn't have to pay.

I feel like he was taking advantage of the bride and groom's good nature (or family's), when she could have just drank for free since they did offer partially open bar.

Seems douchey....yes or no?
Douchey. But (a) not having an open bar is weak to begin with, and (b) having a cash bar that is open for some people just invites this kind of ****. So, definite dick move, and I wouldn't do it, but it's foreseeable.

lol. There was a dollar theater where I went to grad school, and we've brought in 6-packs, buckets of fried chicken, all sorts of ****. Things I wouldn't dream of doing now.

If you share bathrooms, this seems bad. But if he had his own bathroom (aka a 2 bedroom place) I don't think this is wrong as well. Will the next person who moves in really want used bathroom stuff from someone they don't know?

Meh, stuff like this is probably because she doesn't want to go through the hassle of going to the shop and buying new toiletries / cleaning supplies / etc when she gets to the new place.

Cheap more than stingy - but a girl I know who works at Starbucks said that a few people will come in - order something basic like coffee - then want them to add some steamed milk and whipped cream or caramel syrup to it - basically making it a $4 latte.

There is nothing wrong with taking stuff you bought and can re-use from a shared housing situation.

There is a lot wrong with coupons, mostly getting stuck in line behind old people using them. They are so ****ing for poor people and make the world a terrible place.

not sure if it fits, but countless times on craigslist i'll sell ****: old cell phone, old furniture, xbox games, blu rays/dvds...

we agree to a price, the buyer shows up and says "all i have is x dollars, is that cool?" they offer me typically 10%-20% less than the agreed price. every time I say no and thanks for wasting my time

omg this tilts me and has happened to me multiple times. "$50? Yeah I only have $40, but that's cool right? Well, you're really gonna turn down $40 when I've got it right here?"

should just take the $40, bust their headlight, and call it even. It's more tilting when I come home from work or something to meet them.

I certainly don't mind when people take most things that they share in a group house.

However, we all buy things like laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, etc that are shared. Just seems really odd to take something like that to me, especially when it's almost entirely empty.

but they're not "ordering" it - they already have paid and just watching the barista make it - and it's common/fine to ask for a little milk for your coffee - but I'm talking about the people who basically want their entire cheaper drink transformed into an expensive one - "can you pour half the coffee out, add some steamed 2% - add some whip cream with vanilla sprinkles on it?"

While I hate getting stuck in line behind coupon people as well (I normally scout out the lines and pick one that doesn't look like it has any cheapo's in it or with coupons in hand) -- and they also tend to pay with a a freaking check with infuriates me even more, it has actually been proven that millionaires are more likely to use coupons than poor people -- millionaires get that way (and stay that way) by watching what they spend, poor people stay poor because they are stupid and too lazy to use coupons.

That being said, there is rarely anything that coupons are for that I think are worth buying.
