My boss(general contractor) at the time made $11k profit in 3 days and was talking about docking our painter $45 for painting a window the wrong color.

What does one have to do with the other? If you do a ****ty job and waste money you should be sanctioned.

At work a few years back, candy was 90 cents at the vending machine. I paid a dollar, but didn't grab my dime in change right away because I was chatting with a coworker.

While I was still standing in front of the machine, another coworker got up out of his chair, walked over, and took the dime. He wasn't doing it as a joke. He legitimately wanted the dime, and saw his chance. He got called out on it by the other guy I was talking to.

I wouldn't even glue dimes to the floor. I'd just randomly flip dimes in various directions near this guy, and watch him scurry around to pick them up. On his birthday, I'd probably even flip a quarter.

When I worked in the mall, I would glue a dollar coin to the floor every morning. I've seen people work at it with a nail file for twenty minutes.
It was cheap entertainment.

Ordered lunch with a coworker. I put it on my debit card and she gave me cash for her portion. She is far from broke, she works 12 hours a week to "get out of the house" and her husband makes quite a bit of money compared to most.

I was surprised when she took out her purse and calculator to add up what she owed me. I saw her take out a stack of cash with bills ranging from 1's to 20's, so it wasn't as if she didn't have enough to cover it and was scraping by.

She counted out exactly $10.86 and gave it to me, instead of rounding it up to $11. I was very surprised by this but I guess I shouldn't have been.
