Howard,

It's already been confirmed that they suck, even by owners like you and some euro recently.

Let it go man. Fetch is not going to happen.

Probably yes. They're the dog that causes the third most deaths (about 1/30th as many as pits. There are about half as many German Shepards as there are pit bulls).

One of the big problems with pits is that they don't act aggressively, but just go haywire. That and the biting to kill kind of thing that happens with dogs bred to kill dogs and fight bears and bulls as opposed to herding sheep.
The Nazis would never tolerate a dog that went haywire unless it was commanded to.

German Shepherds are surely the Nazis of the dog world, so yes we hate them.

I conceded thAt some of your points had merit sir, but not your overall conclusion that GSDs suck. Mine manifestly do not.

I suspect you would concede that GSDs are much better than pits.

the only people who wouldn't agree are put owners.

I have a German Shepard since he was 8 weeks old. He is now 3 years old and is the best dog I've ever had. We socialized him with people and other dogs of all ages and even cats. He just wants to play with everyone, including my friends pit bull which he brings up to my house to run in our yard. I would not want to be he person coming into my house without me home, but I could never imagine him attacking for no reason.

I've never personally experience a vicious dog attack or even really heard about many in my area or local news so I guess my opinion would change if it happened to me closely.

Actually the one dog I won't ever **** with because they scare the piss out of me are dalmations. I've known a few vicious ones. Ban em all!

27offsuit accuses GSDs of being hyper, nosy, and willing to bark at anything all the time. I can't say he's wrong on these points. And I've certainly met mean-ass GSDs before, and they can definitely be intimidating.

We have a GSD. We didn't specifically pick that breed, but that's what we got. She's a great dog, but hyper and barks too much is true.

My friend had a German Shepherd he raised from a puppy. Beautiful dog but it had way too much energy for his apartment - became neurotic. I think it ran off and disappeared eventually. That dog was an incredible athlete - I swear it could cross a football field in like 10 strides.

I don't know if I still have it or not, but we were playing around with an iPhone camera and got a shot of one of ours going up in the air to catch a thrown ball. Holy moley, the dog seems like she's nothing but muscle and teeth and flying saliva and concentration. Thank god we live on an acre.

Yeah, at the dog park pretty much the only faster dogs than mine are the racing breeds.

TBH I am equally concerned with both breeds at the dog park, along with Rotts.

They all have that 'don't turn your back on/take your eyes off' thing going.

And yes, Dalmations are all essentially ******ed I learned some years ago. Inbred into Bolivia I think.

Hadn't seen one in years, and then there was one at dog park last Sunday. Yup, total dip**** that started fighting with all other dogs immediately.

I was bitten by some kind of collie that had that "don't take your eyes off" thing. I was working and couldn't just keep watching the dog.

That's bad, obviously.

But it's not the pit thing. That kind of dog runs away when you look at it because it's afraid. It also bites you because it's afraid.

Pits aren't afraid. Looking at them pisses them off. They don't stop biting because they're not afraid and you're not dead yet.

Some guy knocked on my truck this morning to ask if our dogs could play together. I was like, "uhh... yeah, I guess. Give me a minute." He brings a pit over and it's pulling on it's leash barking at my dog in the window. I told him I needed to use the bathroom, went in the store and he was still waiting for me ten minutes later. I said, "sorry, just got a call and need to leave." and had to drive across the street to another truck stop because I'm a pussy.

People seem to have a need to prove their dog can play nicely. It's bizarre when I'm walking my dog that other people will stop like they want our dogs to get together for a play date. Just take your damn dog to the dog park!

Or not - if it's a pit.
