Ketchup on hash, meatloaf, pot roast, traditional American meat and potatoes is acceptable.

Maybe the most Midwest boomer thing ever posted. Lol ketchup being too spicy. I bet you put macaroni noodles in your chili.

My only use of ketchup is for fries. Recently I learned to put some cayenne pepper in my ketchup. Pretty significant improvement.

anti ketchup hotdog people are just being pretentious for no reason other than they know its a faux paux and want to look like they themselves are civilized, or are just angry chicago tards.

The best part of the hotdog is the last couple bites where the ketchup and mustard have mixed because its the back of the bun and has been smashed together by your hand.

I dislike literally everything about hotdogs except for the minced onions you can find in some condiment bars.

Hotdogs are lousy sausages, with the meat ground too fine and bland spicing. The casings don't even seem real, but more like the filling itself was polished on the outside.

Hot dog buns are almost universally cigar-shaped pieces of, effectively, Wonderbread. No flavor and overly soft white bread pap.

The mustard that they offer you is usually the absolute worst of all of the world's many mustards. French's yellow mustard is the Kraft American cheeze-food product of mustard.

To make the gross damp blandness even worse, boil the hotdog instead of grilling it and add ketchup.

No thanks. I'll have a grilled German sausage on a roll with stoneground mustard, please.

Your most poignant take since "Facebook is good actually, and olds are the ones who hate on it. Plz ignore the fact that it's olds who overpopulate Facebook."

It's okay for you to sometimes just be on the wrong side of an issue; you don't need to always turn it into a massive reach where you find a way to declare double-secret invisible superiority.

I said facebook was good? yeesh

I'm not on the wrong side of this issue tho. The level of judgement people have about a condiment used on a casing full of lips and *******s is completely ridiculous. If you can buy the food under a heat lamp in a convenience store or cut it up in spaghetti for little kids to eat, then there really is no other explanation for having such disdain for people who dare to put ketchup on it than just being a prat. That's not a massive reach or some double secret invisible superiority, that's just cold hard facts.

I’ve been known to put mustard or malt vinegar on fries. Neither is as offensive as ketchup on a hot dog.

The best fries, I ever had were from this little Ma & Pa German bar/restaurant back in the day. Perfectly fried, fresh from the fryer, crisp, served with two ramekins, one with homemade German mustard and the other with a dark amber malt vinegar. To die for. And if Miss Sophie liked you, she would sprinkle freshly snipped parsley and a dusting of shaven parmesan on top, no extra charge.

Everyone adored Max & Miss Sophie, R.I.P. I still put flowers on their graves, they are buried in the same cemetery as my parents. I have never been the only flowers on their graves. The woman was an utter Goddess of food. On Fridays, she served potato pancakes to order, but only on Friday. If you weren't at a table by 11:30, you had to sit at the bar and wait, sometimes for over an hour. There were so many people in the neighborhood, especially elderly men, that loved having that place to enjoy.

I should probably correct myself since it was more of an anti-anti-FB post. You never directly said it was good. Also jish had committed the strange sin of conflating FB with all of social media when FB had been the topic, and you were quoting him, so maybe you were just accepting his context. I'm not anti-social media either, despite my disdain for specifically Facebook.

Not all hot dogs are created equal. I think a good char broiled hot dog in natural casing is great. Ted’s hot dogs back in Buffalo, NY comes to mind. As a midpoint between Chicago and NYC we took the best from both and left the rest.

Local vegan joint turned me onto a cool dip for fries: ketchup + applesauce + sriracha. Stuff is the bomb.

Also gotta rep my puerto rock heritage and give a shout out to mayo-ketchup!
