For what it's worth, I've used condoms like 4 or 5 times in the 25 years I've been having sex and never had any accidental pregnancies and never had an STD. Just make sure to know the girl. There are two hookers in my history, one in the Phillipines and one in Chile, that I worried about for a while after. I'd recommend condoms with hookers so you don't have the stress after. But sex with condoms isn't even as good as sex with your hand.

the effects of the hormones can show up in several different ways.
one ex-gf of mine turned nympho-like after getting on the pill, another one went the opposite direction, plus some nasty mood swings. yet another one started picking up weight like crazy and obv went off it again.

basically, it's a surprise package. anything could happen. sit back and enjoy the show.

And even though it might not be the best physically if an already scheduled special weekend falls on the period, she can just keep taking the active pills (not the placebo ones you take during your period to keep you in the habit of taking them daily) and will not have a cycle.

my ex wasn't THAT bad but it was definitely a huge difference. Going two weeks without became kind of common and she didn't seem to mind. And it just wasn't as good [for either of us].

Seriously, what people say about birth control is true. My ex went on the patch, and while I'm sure you can attribute some changes in desire to falling into a long-term relationship, it really messed her up emotionally and pretty much killed her sex drive. Use caution. Sex without a condom is better (though not as much as most people here say imo), but condomfulsex with a super keyed up partner is clearly > limited bareback sex with someone who'd rather read a book.

Your results will likely vary...but I really wish bc pills/patch/etc. didn't so drastically alter mood/desire.

my girlfriend went on the pill a while ago for maybe a year. really can't understate how much condoms suck. but, she missed pills a lot, and it was soul crushing to have to use condoms for a couple days or a week or month depending on how many she missed. you can't mix and match at all because the times you use the condom you'll want to saw your head off with razor blades.

Avoid the preg trap by not blowing your load inside even if she's on the pill. Use the back or chest and be a gentleman and clean up after.

100% agree that my own damn arm is better than condom sex. Scientists can put a man on the moon but can't create a condom that doesn't feel like f'ing the air.

I suggest getting her on the Nuva Ring if at all possible.

It's my opinion to be better safe than sorry.

When it gets down to it - do you want to trust someone else when it comes to something like pregnancy?

Also, be sure to warn her that if she goes on antibiotics of any kind they can reduce the effectiveness of the pill.

As others have said, be sure to use other protection for the first few weeks when she goes on the pill because it doesn't fully kick in immediately.

Depo Provera. It's a shot she gets every 3 months. No need to worry about taking the pill, not just every day, but at the same time every day.

So true. I've always hated condoms and made it my resolve in life to never use them again. I still pull out mainly pulled out with my ex when she was on the pill, unless it was on one of her safe days like right after her period, etc.

Microbob - Some pills have, ironically, terrible side effects on girl's sexual desire as you already know. That is why most ob/gyn's will make the girl cycle through different groups of pills for two month intervals or so to find the best one for them. I hate the girls who are misinformed and just stay on the same pill and feel miserable, so tilt-inducing.

z28dreams - Your right about the antibiotics, how some girls don't know this is unbelievable. It is funny that from all my experiences, it seems like the guy knows more about the birth control than the girl themselves. Guys know getting a girl pregnant is like the ultimate cooler when they're young.
