I was flipping thru some CDs and came across a Shania Twain record I must have picked up out of used bin at some point. It has a .50 price tag on it. Still thinking, why the heck would I buy this? Still in the shrink wrap. I can’t name a single Shania Twain song.

Lol.

Spoiler:

There's kind of a messed up story playing out of you read those in order.

Shania Twain was the most attractive Canadian Indian lady since Sacajawea. I say was but I guess she still is.

Never was real country music though, not even close.

“Real country music,” ****ing lollll.

I gave it a spin last night. I didn’t get all the way thru it. It is not my cup of tea.

However, I do not regret the .50c expenditure.

Step-native.

Quote:
Twain was born Eilleen Regina Edwards in Windsor, Ontario, on August 28, 1965,[22] to Sharon (née Morrison) and Clarence Edwards. She has two sisters, Jill and Carrie Ann. Her parents divorced when she was two and her mother moved to Timmins, Ontario, with her daughters. Sharon married Jerry Twain, an Ojibwa from the nearby Mattagami First Nation, and they had a son, Mark, together. Jerry adopted the girls and legally changed their surname to Twain. When Mark was a toddler, Jerry and Sharon adopted Jerry's baby nephew Darryl when his mother died. Because of Twain's connection to Jerry, the media have incorrectly reported that she is of Ojibwe descent.[23] When questioned as to why she chose not to publicly acknowledge Edwards as her father for years, Twain stated:

My father (Jerry) went out of his way to raise three daughters that weren't even his. For me to acknowledge another man as my father, a man who was never there for me as a father, who wasn't the one who struggled every day to put food on our table, would have hurt him terribly. We were a family. Step-father, step-brothers, we never used that vocabulary in our home. To have referred to him as my step-father would have been the worst slap across the face to him.[24]

Twain currently holds a status card and is on the official band membership list of the Temagami First Nation. In 1991, the singer was offered a recording contract in Nashville and applied for immigration status into the United States. At that time, by virtue of her stepfather Jerry Twain being a full-blooded Ojibwe and the rights guaranteed to Native Americans in the Jay Treaty (1795), Shania became legally registered as having 50 per cent Native American blood.[24]

What are you doing, step-native?

Remember back when we played poker and Metagame was still called Shania? Good, if confusing for newbs, times

Anyone else use an Alexa device at home? My kids have one and I ****ing hate that annoying piece of garbage.
Got a new Vizio tv recently and ever since we set it up the Alexa will randomly control the tv.

Alexa dot is plugged in in a bedroom, TV is in living room. Half the time when my kid will say "Alexa, play xxxx", the TV will shut off whatever I'm watching and open Prime, trying to play some random movie or show. Sometimes even if the TV is off it will turn on and do the same thing.
No idea how the tv and Alexa ever got connected, because we definitely did NOT set it up.

Any way to fix this? If not, I'll just throw that thing straight in the trash.

lol Goat

apparently when you connect a firestick to your tv any alexa device you have is automatically paired and enabled to control it? The ****?
Great, so I just have to download the alexa app in order to disable this idiotic setting.

And it keeps turning itself back on! And even if someone *did* want them connected, why the **** does the dot randomly open something on the TV rather than play the music through the built-in speaker? **** Amazon
