oh god i still do this. so many fakes i try every time i see them. because there are those magical words that take -es, -ed, -er, -est. a lot of them are because i used to play a ton of 'boggle' at wordtwist.org which uses SOWPODS and i still haven't adjusted to the fact that e.g. SEAN is not a word in SWF.

I posted this earlier and it is extremely gross but the oil from your nose and forehead works as a lubricant. I was talking with a friend IRL about how this strategy helped me score more words and he looked at me like I was crazy. So if you decide to do this either be discreet or do it at home.

Started my first game with papaya for the semifinals.

I think we should start the next tournament early next week even if this one is still going. Best of 5s will take a while and I don't think everyone should be put on hold until they're over. I'll probably send out mass PMs reminding people since its been a while since the interest list started.

Thanks to all who played in this tournament, it's been a lot of fun.

We could always have smaller (depending on how many people enter), but I'm good with whatever format we use. I am a fan of getting to play vs everyone though (even though most of the time I can't play my games until later on in the day).

I will send out PMs and set everything up for the next tournament tonight after the Celtics-Heat game. I'm pumped. Going to do round robin because it's fun and everyone gets to play a bunch that way.

Papaya is grinding me down one late-night round at a time in the semis. Last round I was down ~200 going into round 3, got my wish for a juicy board and felt I had a pretty good round with >2000 points and thought I had a chance, but Papaya did his best Mariano Rivera impression and put up >2200.

Barring an improbable comeback, I'm looking forward to the papaya-chronick über showdown and I'm sure chronick will have lots of updates for us.

I set up the spreadsheet for the next tournament and I sent out reminder PMs to all the players. The PM reads as follows:

There are some basic instructions on how to proceed in the spreadsheet. The seeding round is a big round robin between everyone, it should take about 2-3 weeks to complete and about 5 hours of actual playing time from each player over that period. The tournament round is a double elimination format.

If you won't have time to play, please let me know ASAP so I can take your name off the list. Otherwise, you can start playing your matches right away.

If you have any questions please let me know or post in the 2p2 WWF thread. Good luck!

I'm going to leave registration open for a couple of days if anyone still wants to join, although the number of players will be capped at 32 (we're at 25 now). After registration closes I'll also remove any player that's been unresponsive.

For people who played in the last tournament, not too much has changed in the round robin so you should know what to do.

I'm going to start a few matches before I go to sleep.
