I feel it's rude when people say "Not attending" an event on facebook. I feel they should click either "Attending" or "Maybe attending." When you click, "Not attending" it seems like you're telling the host to F off.

Why put maybe attending if you can't attend? That makes no sense

What would be rude I guess is putting not attending without telling the host a reason when you were expected to go.

I see it like, Hey I'm telling you I'm not coming so you have a realistic idea of the amount of people coming/you don't expect me there. It's not like I'm doing it out of spite, I'm actually trying to be helpful, and I would hope the host is not some dainty little soul who gets his feelings hurt like a little girl.

Euhm if you know you can't make an event why would you say you are maybe attend? I 100% hate people that say maybe and call on the evening with some lame ass excuse 75% of the and show up 25%.
