the other thing that really matters here is what the standard use of common space is like in your place. when i had roommates we were the type who were rarely home anyway, so i doubt anybody would have cared if one dude was always watching TV with his chick.

but if you guys were often in the house together and the dynamic just went from "me and roomie watchin some TV," to "me, roomie and chick who is basically a living, breathing reminder that i fail at life watchin tv, followed by me crying into a pillow while roomie plows chick who reminds me i am a failure," well, i don't really see why he should be cool with that. it's not all that fair, but, being realistic, if a guy in his situation is really truly ok with that there is something wrong with him.

This is correct and funny on multiple fronts.

meh, making the roommates lesbians is boring (for the purposes of the experiment i mean) because it effectively eliminates one of the more interesting questions, which is whether the chicks try to steal / flirt with the dude or whether they are mean to him.

btw in college i found myself in the "bf of hottest chick, with four roommates, three of whom are lesbians, two of whom are a couple, plus one straight fattie" permutation of this experiment and it was pretty catastrophic. she lived in a house and i lived in a gross dorm so i was always there.

they were all crazy and mean. chick ripped my heart out, then six months later wanted me back, got sick of that quickly, left me for an abstract expressionist painter / sensitive skater dude who had to have one of those lamps in his room during the winter so he didn't kill himself. leaving behind the shell of a human being you know today.

i don't know how much the lesbian roommates had to do with any of that but they were definitely not pleased to have me around.
