The journalists may improve their reporting by admitting that this is a story from one person and this does not provide evidence that late-stage cancer is curable.*

Yep. He did a media tour touting his breakthrough treatment a couple of weeks before the season started. The biggest win was the cover of People Magazine and how he is beating the odds.

One month after the season started, it is was quietly announced that his condition had significantly deteriorated.

This was one long con game.

Sad news but on the flip side he made millions reading trivia questions and lived a fairly long life so all things considered he did alright.

This is not meant to be speaking ill of the dead. I just never understood his popularity. Seemed like a decent guy though.
