But sleeping on a couch is going to have you ready to go. A motel six room is $56 a night. If you stay two nights each weekend you are paying $280 a month more than sleeping on someone's couch. If you don't see the value in that $280, well good luck to you.
I understand you don't have much money and are trying something but why not build up a bigger bankroll where you are until you can afford to do it right. Otherwise you are likely going to fail without having given yourself the best chance to succeed.
You are too caught up in this "deal" you got for a full month over a handful of motel room stays. Yet under no scenario do you plan to use it all month so that is not relevant and does not make it a good deal. Also with the motel if you can't go one weekend you pay nothing.
Again I realize your money situation is tight, but it seems too tight for what you are trying to do.
Go ask all the people who told you Palm Springs is the place to be with only two to three hundred dollars a month for lodging. Maybe one of them has a spare room. Maybe someone else wants to do the same thing and you split the motel costs.
I am normally super cheap but in my businesses I know when I need to spend money to make money, even if a short term less expensive option is available.
The original deal is not horrible for the room but I just assume there is no chance she lets you take the room even with the contract. Call it a hunch.
So now is the time to look at what to do next. I know I even mentioned getting the couch for cheap, but thinking about it, even free is not worth it. You literally would be better off just sleeping in your car.
