Rent for sleeping on a couch? Rent for sleeping on a couch?

Thought of the most absolutely LDO solution to car sleeping concerns. I could just "practice" doing it right now while in LA.

Sadly, you're not, since I have to spell out that I was showing the type of camera typically seen at a street intersection. While your Walgreens reference was very accurate, the intersection reference implies that you have no idea why a dome is used. The dome hides from an observer the direction the camera is pointing. They are used with cameras which may be actively monitored for criminal or suspicious behavior and are aimed by the user. This is not happening at public intersections.

You should stop attempting to make fun of your own cluelessness.

I would think the only people calling it a "dome" are the rent-a-cop security guys showing off their lingo. And of course the people that aspire to be as hip and cool as those guys.

I thought "dome" was simply referring to a parking lot light. Had no idea people were using the word dome instead of the more obvious word choice of camera.

I wouldn't need to. The very descriptive word "camera" is included.

Do you need an explanation for the term "eye in the sky" also??

Not talking about a traffic camera, chief; talking about a security camera. Like you said, if it's for monitoring suspicious behavior, it's a dome. Yes, they are located at intersections, as well.

Lol, @ all you nits getting busted up over the word dome when you knew exactly wtf it was a reference to.

I had no clue about the dome reference to security cams either and because I've most certainly been outside more times than anyone else in the thread, that means the "not understanding the dome reference" people win!

Yes, this is a strange derail, but it's a strange thread as well... (Good luck Tens, go for those dreams, but you owe us an honest trip report on your return.)

Do the people who use this term, live in the USA? Seriously.
I've never said check the dome, either. 1) Dealers can't put the obvious together, as you nicely illustrate by having "know (sic) idea" what we were talking about. 2) Cameras are not there to protect the players; they are there to make sure the dealers aren't stealing. Palms up, buddy!

All,

I've never heard anyone use the term "dome" in that context either.

No, again it's very self-descriptive so no need to. I did Google "parking under a dome" though. No cameras to be found.

I've been here since ~1997 before the 02 software was put into place. Me, Jalib, Weidman, Geary (and others that were essentially tossed from 2p2), called them domes, dome.

Can we get off this stupid dome discussion and back to the couch thread?

Questions I wish OP would answer:
- What is the daily activity in the couch room? I am assuming that you would poker at night and sleep during the day. I suspect that landlady might have assumed that you would be renting the couch for nighttime sleeping. Do you anticipate that other residents/guests will carry on like normal people during the day (watching TV, talking, etc.)? Or do you believe that your rental contract would entitle you to a sphere of solitude?

- Your parents seem to be providing some of your living expenses and, I'm guessing (based on the car they're paying for), are not poors. How would they react to the idea of you renting a couch?

- Has the process of writing down your predicament clarified at all how ridiculous your plan is?

Dude, it's been exhausted; every variable has been explored, even the ones of yours I've snipped. Domes are much more interesting at this point.

Perhaps he can install a dome on the couch that records HD on that 15 inch Retina MacBook Pro his folks bought him sitting in his Lexus to document who and when he got pinched?

Well, the first 5 were Mason, David, Ray, Mat and Chuck, so do the math... has to be easier than counting a side pot, no?

I was on here before the ubb was put into place, when the site was only one forum - a poker strategy forum. I can't recall if El D posted back when the site was not a login forum, so I do not know who was here first (not that it matters to me), but I go back to when the forum was a ghost town.

After the hack last year, this was the only account whose email address I could find documentation on that was associated with 2p2, but I had already been posting on z4. This was a gimmick I created when Tony Paladino ate a pound of butter for the Crimson Challenge, so suck it.
