When merry lads are playing...
Each with his bonny lass
Upon the greeny grass.
Fa la la la la la la la la.

Hmm.

Mayo'd at the wire.

Drinking Maylox by the gallon.

Alright, I have a confession to make: until I watched it tonight, I hadn't seen Network and was unaware that Robert Duvall was in it.

****ing great movie.

(No to the other question that people don't have to bother asking. It didn't hit streaming this month either.)

What should I do for mother's day? I'm thinking make hubs watch the baby and take my mom drinking, but I want to make sure I'm getting maximum value.

Buy mom a shot of Malort and a card with no inscription.

My mom hates Mother's Day. A hug, a kiss, a shot of Tequila. All good.

Mother's Day should be every day.
05-02-2022 , 11:23 PM
Ok, let me be clearer - I'm the mom. Me. What should I ask for on mother's day?

If you have to ask for something, I don't know what to say.

Raise your expectations! And don't ask for anything.

If MD passes without something special, get all indignant and raise hell with your husband. Let your hurt show. It won't happen again. Future gifts will dwarf anything you missed this year.

In about 7 years rinse and repeat with your child.

LOL. As if. Daughter (now 25) asks me "what are we doing for Mom for Mother's Day?" I tell her "IDK, she's your mom."

Too harsh? I've told the wife basically the same thing re: her mother...

So have I, but in the kids' early years you have to suck it up and assume that responsibility. Somewhere about age 7 you need to begin transitioning that responsibility to the kid(s) so that your role fades into gentle reminders and then into being only a spectator.

IMO ldo.

I've been telling her that since she was 16...

I mean, a hand-made Mother's Day Card isn't the worst thing a child could give her mother, I guess?

I get my mom a nice hanging basket of begonias for the bracket on the garage and help her in the garden for the afternoon

Mother's Day is the one occasion where "It's the thought that counts" holds true.

Those begonias are so pretty! Nice job!
