Maybe someone can help me here, I've exhaustively tried to google this but can't get the terms right.

There's a guy I used to work with that had really weird ways of saying things, almost like he was from the south or the midwest but he grew up in socal his whole life.

There was one thing in particular I have never, ever heard anywhere else but I'm almost positive it's a thing somewhere.

For instance if he wanted to say "It looks like it's going to rain" he would say "Looks it's going to rain."

What region is this specific to?

Weird. People in Oregon leave out the verb "to be" a lot, such as "that car needs washed." I've never run across the leaving out modals one from native speakers, though.

Thats exactly what my post meant, some simple minded posters were unable to realize what his act is and step right in it. Not just that but actually being stupid enough to think that the worn out insults would hurt him, you can seriously feel the rage in some of those replies.

Im also surprised by the lack of people pointing out how thinmans initial reply was an attempted burn towards the white knights and how it was lapka who made it about herself.
